Just rewatched the fight. Aren't they training partners in Albuquerque?

Isn't Arlovski no longer friends with Overeem after the loss? Thought I read something about that somewhere.

But how did they both prepare for the fight under the same coach? And Arlovski was saying that he doesn't like Overeem as a person before the fight. How do they keep training together?

They did. Not sure if that's still the case as I don't follow the camp situation as some here. No doubt an accurate response is incoming.

yes, they both trained there at different times of the day. overeem brought in his own coaching staff

They both trained at Jackson-Wink. From what I gather, Arlovski had been there first, and the fight caused some stress in the gym among the coaching staff as to how to approach it. They each took their own separate teams. Wink stuck with AA more. The recent Reem episode does a fantastic job of outlining Reem's partners - he seems to have stuck with them for a while now and they have great chemistry. Younger, dynamic guys. Of course, Wink and Jackson help out occasionally too.

They split up into different camps under the same gym

I think they agreed not to fight each other while at team punishment. -Kenny Florian

They weren't friends before the fight, they were just in the same gym.

They do. However they really don't like each other.

Above is a 2014 article of Arlovski complaining about Overeem injuring everyone in training.

Overeem :

"Andrei's a teammate but we're not really friends, we don't hang out, we hardly train together"

"I didn't know him that well. I know he's pretty emotional, but other than that I don't know that much"

"We trained a couple of times together and he is how he is. He's not my cup of tea. It's not that I hate him, it's not that we're enemies but we don't train together."
