his whole streak has been finishes, but omg he got a decision against TONY FERGUSON. be quiet.
Bro nobody is misinterpreting anything, when has he ever lay and prayed? He's probably the most aggressive submission grappler in the ufc.You guys are misinterpreting.
I'm saying he has an easy path to the title because he can lame his way with grappling. Not saying he's always lame. His older fights in fact are probably more exciting because he faced lower tier competition.
I gave Usman crap too when he controlled Masvidal without trying to do damage or finish.
I don't know that Tony is better than him on the feet. Charles has been smacking everyone around in the striking department. Tony basically just trades shots with people untill they get tired.Yeah i get what you saying
That was his easiest path to victory tho, he saw the openings and capitalized. Tony is better than him on the feet.
The capacity to impose your gameplan for the entire fight against a guy like Tony aint easy
Ok besides the sub attempt. The guy just put Tony's legs behind his head and pinned him down all match.

No I dont plenty of people have been able to get up from under Oliveria. His takedowns aren't as proficient as a Khabibs. Tony chose to stay under him because he probably thought he had an advantage on the ground, on top of that it's not hard to take Tony down Olivera has elite bjj but he doesn't have elite wrestling. He would have a much harder time taking down Justin or even Dustin. Im not saying he can't but to say he can lay and pray the entire top 5 is a stretch. Khabib is a different type of grappler proficient in a bunch of different techniques. I can definitely see Olivera cracking these guy's on the feet and then getting a sub, but Olivera just not gonna be able to wresrlefuck everybody, cause hes not a wrestler. You are. I'm saying the remaining competition, who are elite in the striking department, are also not that strong in grappling (besides maybe Dustin, tho I wasn't impressed by his grappling vs Khabib at all).
This means Do Bronx can lay and pray his way to the title.
Up until now, his competition has not been elite - this explains his dominant streak.
It just so happens that the top 5 outside of Khabib are elite strikers with weak / avg grappling.
Hence he will, just like with Tony, largely avoid striking and lame his way to a title.
Got it?

This would've been a much better premise for a thread. The more I think about what Oliveira did, the more I'm warming up to him and his chances. For one, the guys gotta be very physically strong at this stage and tall, which gives him good leverage for TDs. To control Ferguson like that is no small feat.
His striking is decent, not elite but good enough to do damage and more importantly from range. His subs are very good, as is his top control.
Question marks are his heart when put under pressure and his cardio / 5 round output.
