@ebe9 @aries not quite the true reason why they aren't allowed. You can throw a backfist and land with the padded part of the glove. They are less strict about that in pro boxing anyway and I would guess on paper the same rules are in kickboxing (about hitting witht he padded part of the glove).
Back in the early day sof boxing it was called a "pivot punch" and it was apparently made illegal when at one bigger fight some guy was losing but pulled of a lucky punch if you will doing a spinning backfist; the fans were pissed so they made it illegal.
It should probably be legal in boxing same with holding and hitting
