I had gotten a new refrigerator about a year a go and I went from a model like this.

To a french door style like this.

I thought I was upgrading, but after having it for a year I kind of liked my old one better. Having an Ice maker is nice though. It doesn't seem like it can hold as much food and it's awkward to dig around in.

Yeah, I feel like most new fridges are that style. It doesn't bother me, but then again I also have a deep freeze for all of the bigger stuff.

Those kinds of refrigerators piss me off. Pandering to manlets who can't reach the freezer if it's above the fridge smh

And this is what French doors look like:

I have a French whore refrigerator.
It opens wide enough you can fit anything in it.

They're both better than the left freezer/right fridge models.

Yes, side by sides do suck. Former Sears sales manager here. Of all the fridges we sold, ~40% were french door, ~50% were top freezer, and ~10% were side by sides. Most of the top freezers we sold were just cheapo value models ether for people who needed one and needed one now, were putting it in a garage, or were just cheap. Basically no one bought the higher end top freezer models. They would get up to around $1400 where french doors start around $1000 range.

I had a huge Sub-Zero fridge get tipped on top of me once. I can't remember if it was of the french door variety or not, but it was damned heavy. An that's the extent of my fridge knowledge. They're heavy.

And extremely expensive. Chances are, it was a side by side but they are both the size of a normal fridge.

I've got one. Never had an issue with it. It holds my food and keeps it cold. What more could I ask for?

When I was in high school we drove up to my friends Parents cottage to drop off a fridge and bring the old one back into town. Being dumb kids we didn't strap the old fridge down in the back of the truck on the way back and it flew out of the back of the truck when we were driving down the highway. I happened to look back at the exact same moment it flew out. It was kind of awesome:D We were just lucky that there was no traffic,

Mine is freezer on the bottom and fridge up top, but without the french door style. I like it. Freezer at the bottom makes sense to me since it's accessed less frequently.

Lol. Holy shit. That must have been something to see. Did you keep driving?

"Fridge? What fridge?"

That's too bad. Discarded refrigerators are a place for young children to hide in. You totally screw some kid out of being a hide and seek master.

i like them bc theyre cute lol
but the ones done in an old school style are even cuter ^_____^
