But not against him. What's his excuse now? This is just sad.

He's ducking him in plain sight.

Its genius, some guys go to the trouble of having a kid to duck.

blame Dana.

Didn't pay enough to DJ.

TJ takes everything anyway

Honestly, I can't wait to see him get caught by Cejudo.

TJ wasnt getting paid more either, and he was the one going to the weight class. DJ is ducking, you can price yourself out of any fight.

Hope Dana fires Mighty Duck the next time he turns down a fight.

Dana White is probably trying to eliminate all excuses by putting them on the same card. Only thing is money.

Well, if DJ wins, he could fight the winner of TJ vs Cody next. Having both bouts on the same card as dual main events could be an unofficial but excellent way of setting up each winner's next fight as being against one another (barring a Cejudo upset, of course)... Much like how the winners of Stipe/Ngannou and DC/Volkan at 220 are now squaring off against each other next month.

Because TJ is a fucking bonehead and has no sense when it comes to managing his career. He's one of those "I'll give him my paycheck" dorks, like anyone believes prize fighters will fight for free.

If the fight is a super fight and if UFC wants it to happen, then they will pay both fighters the amount all groups included feel is fair. It's called negotiations.

Any fighter who takes a "super fight" for the same amount of money is an idiot.

And fans who think fighters are ducking each other are idiots. You're just one of Dana's little bitch parrots.

Why does tj deserve to go down in weight and fight dj? Hasmt even defended yet.

If dj wants to go up and fight him then it should happen.. but i dont want to see tj go to 125 its a bitch move amd he doesnt even deserve the chance at 2 belts. Go 145 if hes so good.

lol at DJ making negotiations while being the worst draw champ in recent history.

He should be glad TJ is coming down and this fight will actually make his reign interesting, way better than pointless rematches nobody is screaming to see and maybe it could increment his leverage.

I don't recall Aldo acting like a baby when he was offered Edgar, he fought and owned his ass like a true champ

Wait, what did I miss? DJ’s next fight got announced?

let tj rematch cruz first he isnt even same league as dj yet

Aldo did not have these kind of demands when Edgar came down to fight him for the title. I don't see Cormier or Stipe making a gigantic fuss about money either. It has more to do with confidence than fiscal sense, if thats the case almost every champion should price themselves out. DJ has had a TUF season around him and he can't sell himself, so why is he suddenly valued at such a high number? TJ Dillashaw would be competing in the 125 division, Johnson wouldn't even be moving up. There is no additional challenges for Demetrious in this fight than any other flyweight fight in terms of fairness. He had no problems fighting Ray borg who missed weight multiple times, missed weight during their fight and barely had a good resume to fight for the title

Let's be honest, anyone would take a loss for 2 million dollars, unless you're rich. Hell, I'd let TJ knock me out for that much. The only reason he is asking for that much is because TJ is a legit dangerous fight for him due to TJ's skill. By pricing himself out, he is in a win-win. If they accept, it doesnt matter that much if he wins or loses. If they decline, he can avoid the fight. Theres a very big reason why he only does this to Dillashaw. That's a classic case of ducking if there ever was one to me, a real champion of a division believes they are the best in that division and takes the fight.

Setting up something for the end of the year maybe? Would suck for Moraes though.

I'm pretty sure Ariel said these two guys worked together to get the deal they wanted. If TJ had half a clue, maybe he'd do the same. Work together instead of saying dumbshit publicly.

If you think DJ lacks confidence, wow. Just wow. What could possibly be said to someone like you?

You speak as if you manage DJ yourself, which obviously you don't, so stop speaking as if the very basic thoughts you have are a fact in anyone elses reality.

Here's what I think. UFC keeps touting this as a super fight. Dana is telling fans this is a super fight and he's hyping it up.

TJ is indeed legit, and personally, I think he's one of the best fighters there is. So naturally, taking a fight against someone from another division, a champion no less, and one of the best fighters in the world, why wouldn't he negotiate instead of taking the same amount of money against someone from his weight class? Does a super fight not deserve more money?

I don't see any harm in fighters trying to benefit when UFC benefits. UFC and DJ and TJ should all be working together to make this happen, not belittling each other publicly and calling each other pussies and ducks. This kind of behaviour and tactic is beneficial to literally no one, and unfortunately, dipshit "fans" just parrot this nonsense, so you end up with what we have here on sherdog and every other MMA forum - fat, disgusting, neckbeard, redneck, dipshit fans calling literally the best fighters in the world "pussies and ducks" because their simple little brains can't compute that there is more going on behind the scenes than just "fight me bro or you're scared".

Fuck off.

What's TJ's excuse for avoiding Holloway and going after a guy in a lower weight class?

It's time to scrap 125 altogether. Ditch wmma also. Make UFC great again.
