Just thought I'd share this for fun!

It's a pearl 2010. Pity the colour's lighter after a wash now. Gonna see what I can do to darken it.

I will. It's a work in progress at the moment, but there's prolly gonna be some more bling on it before it's done.

Gi Dye/Batik Project: Warrior One Gi | Steve's BJJ Blog look around his blog, im not sure but he does alot of dyeing and experimenting, he might have mentioned how to set in the color, again not sure, but steve seems to know what hes doing

Yep, saw his stuff before, but we're using different dyes, so I'm testing what I have available here. The fixing method is slightly different too, so I'm trying to get the timings right.

Supposed to be gray but turned out teal-ish. Someone mistook them for jeans!

That gi top color is awesome. I was told in my color retention thread that a chemical called retayne helps with cotton dyes.

Can you tell us how you did it? What dye company did you use and which color.

Thanks for the idea seammagear :) I also have the 2010 model and it's ridiculous how dirty it got, it's practically turning gray. Reg gi ftw

I wish all the companies didn't stop making red Gis. How about a picture of the pants and jacket together.

If you want to dye your own gi, it's pretty cheap. I just want to know the color used here because it's awesome/.
I'm going to guess and say fire red.

It's wine red or something like that. The color is a much brighter red after washing though, so sadly it didn't hold. I can't rmb the dye used, but it's some kinda german brand with something to the effect of easycolor or fastcolor. Will have to check it out again when I get down to the shop for more dye. Planning to darken it but still haven't found the time.

That's the first thing that popped in my head. Think it would look awesome to have a "denim" gi.

Actually, I did dye it like that somewhat. Left the mid thigh area lighter like how a pair of jeans would look. Haha. Just didn't expect the gray to turn out more denim-ish.
