Disrespected fighters with great UFC records

Demian Maia is 22 and 10. Only been finished twice in 32 UFC-fights.

Stipe. He's clearly the HW GOAT, but insecure Fedor nuthuggers still try to undermine his greatness on a weekly basis.

DC

guy only lost to Jones and Stipe (who he also has a win over) but he gets constantly shit on. I don’t get it.

What a suck up you are.

It's often been said that one of the drawbacks of typed commentary is that you don't get the tone of how things were "said". Just imagine a lift of an eyebrow and an arch drawl in the voice, and you'll see I wasn't being a suck-up at all. Also imagine it in the recent post where I called you "my good sir". I'd hate for you to assume I thought you were good in any way ;)

He was a very good, borderline great fighter. The problem is he is staying on too long and getting KO'd/TKO'd too much. His highs are very good but his lows are awful.
His "lows" really aren't that bad when you think about it. Outside of the Edwards fight everybody he has lost to has either held the belt or at least challenged for it. Most have either held the belt or interim belt. Also Edwards could quite possibly challenge for the belt as well, he's ranked #3 rn. Lawler fight and second Pettis fights were robberies imo, Masvidal challenged for the belt, Benson held the belt with 3 defenses, Pettis held the belt, Conor won 2 belts, Tony/Gaethje were interim champs, Till challenged for the belt and was massive for 170, Nate fought for the belt, RDA was champ etc..

With how active he's been combined with the fact he admittedly doesn't show up for some fights it's pretty impressive that he's really only lost to super legit guys. Not very many can say that. Almost anybody you can think of aside from Khabib/Jones/GSP has lost to at least 1 or 2 guys that have never and will never fight for the belt.

Curtis Blaydes 9-2 and one no contest for weed

Yair Rodriguez 8-1-1

Colby Covington 11-2

Benson Henderson was 11-3 in the UFC

Ryan Bader went 13-5

Francisco Trinaldo is 16-6

Didn't know Blaydes got a NC for Weed, he did have to smoke the week of the fight for that to happen right?

Khabib Nurmagomedov: 13-0

Way to read the thread title.

He's lost to very good fighters but has gotten brutalized. It's not like he's losing split decisions, he's getting destroyed in there. Masvidal begged for the fight and then showed that Cerrone wasn't in the same league as him. That's one of quite a few examples.

Funny I tend to think Colby is overrated. Good fighter don’t get me wrong but his best wins are against guys well past their prime. First time in a few years he fought someone in their prime he got his jaw broken and finished.

He was dead even on the score cards until that last round. He scored a body shot on Usman that effected him enough to fake the low blow....

Yeah he got finished, but it was a great close fight where he gave as good as he got. Usman is unique in that he is over sized in the division, but still seems to have endless cardio.

I am not a fan of Usman or Colby, but those two would split 50/50 most days.

Cerrone is better than Masvidal overall.
