Disney's movie division (Studio Entertainment) accounts for only 16% of its revenues. I assumed it was a much bigger chunk of the pie because of its global dominance and the strength of its properties (Walt Disney Pictures, Pixar, Marvel Studios, Lucasfilm, 20th Century Fox among others). They own 6 of the 10 highest grossing movies of all time. And yet, it pales in comparison to its Media division which controls ABC, ESPN, and all Fox channels except Fox News.

And even that takes second place to its theme parks. Astonishing how much money it generates.

They do alright for themselves I guess.

Let’s get real here. Disney can come and buy the UFC and make Dana dress up like Goofy and there won’t be a damn thing Dana could do about it.

Disney's Revenue Loss Streams...

Rian Johnson
Star Wars Theme Park
Star Wars Toys
Brie Larson

Last Jedi still made 1.3 billion tho. I don't know anything about the success of the rides or toys associated with it.

Two hours of a dog wearing a Darth Vader mask taking a poo on the carpet would have made 1.3 billion at that point in time if it was called Star Wars Episode 8. Rian Johnson cost his employers billions.

The 37% also includes "products" which I assume is merch sales? that's got to be pretty significant.

I rather watch Darth Doggo take a 2 hour carpet shit then have to sit through TLJ again.

I agree with these but Brie hasn’t been in anything that cost them money in the end

that Rian Johnson should be sent to live on Jupiter.

I saw a headline suggesting Apple buy Disney after the stock freefall.
