Seriously.

They own all of their traditional properties, all of the Pixar stuff, all of the Marvel stuff, Star Wars, Indiana Jones, and they also just acquired the film wing of 20th Century Fox.

WTF? They're getting way too powerful and are buying up the whole fucking industry. Pretty soon it's just going to be Disney and then everybody else. And the everybody else is progressively getting smaller and smaller.

What do y'all think of this? Is it alarming that Disney is slowly turning into the Empire?

If Disney insisted on keeping high morals this would worry me. It is clear they only care about money now and will try to give the fans what they want in exchange for it.

Not quite sure what you mean.

They should get into porn.

They also own majority of Hulu which I use to stream their stuff

It will only get bigger

The thing about intellectual property is anybody can create them.

I think he's saying that despite their success and overwhelming critical praise and fan reception, theyre still bad for giving audiences what they want. Somehow?

Until TLJ I felt like Disney just hadnt missed a step with any of their properties. And even in my disappointment TLJ, I seem to be a minority overall. Or at the very least part of a rather evenly divided audience. They still have my benefit of the doubt that a quality product is their biggest goal. TLJ showed some chin ks in the armor, but it isnt enough for me to sink them yet.

What are you getting at?
I meant to imply that Disney owning the rights of most of the iconic film / television brands of yesteryear doesn't really give them a monopoly on the entertainment industry.

Anybody can launch a streaming service, produce top-quality programming, and grab market share. Film / television ideas grow on trees, and the supply far outweighs the demand (unfortunately).

disney overprices all their products, what sucks about this is that in the future this will make all the streaming services raise their prices or not have content available because disney is strict with sharing their content.

I hope they buy the WWE. Make wrestling great again.

I fell like they are becoming a monopoly and that thing that happened to Microsoft will happen to them too. Although that happened a while ago and I don’t remember much.

Of course.

It's not just Disney and films.
It's every single major industry there is. This is what happens when laws about mergers/acquisitions and market competition are ignored.
