If I was the girl Cachoeira tried to eye-gouge, I would start frantically twisting that neck, or biting that ear off. Don't gouge my eyes.

Edit : just to be clear, I'm totally not used to imagine I were a girl, right, that's a first time

Probably Pahlares holding on to heel hooks too long or Jones and his eye pokes. I also hate when guys are clearly overmatched and they resort to cheating like Conor or Anderson/Chael when he was holding on to the shorts.

And I know it's legit but part of me hated in the Aldo/Zombie fight where Zombie basically broke his arm and Aldo started going after the injury. Just seemed kinda scummy.

But going to the Jones eye pokes, I recall seeing an interview a long time ago where he hinted that him and Jackson went over the rule book and essentially admitted to using the pokes as part of their game plan. The idea is that you don't poke, you extend your fingers out and eventually a guy is going to run into your fingers. Since it's "unintentional", you'll never get a point taken. Once the guy is poked, he'll worry about it happening again and be compromised. That's about as dirty as you can get.

It's some straight Terry Silver "If a man can't see, he can't fight".

Besides reading Gray Maynards complaining about fight money i would say it should be Keith Jardines loss against Houston Alexander.

You got ahead and post that rule.

From the unified rules looks like it would be covered by these.

  • Unsportsmanlike conduct that causes injury to an opponent
  • Holding opponent’s gloves or shorts
  • Disqualification may occur after any combination of fouls or after a flagrant foul at the discretion of the referee.

I wonder if they've changed the rules now because of Jones because the UFC rules now have listed as a foul:

Fingers outstretched toward an opponent’s face/eyes

Yeah. I have a feeling Jones played into that rule change. John McCarthy helped write the new rules and knew Jon was doing that.

Hendo has some pretty late hits. Wandy in their last fight. The one on Bisping should have gotten him suspended for life. He even bragged about it.

Tank got a rule changed for trying to throw a guy out of the octagon

i don’t recall the ref seeing it so it wasn’t called so there’s no foul. He had his wrist was hitting him which slipped to the glove in the midst of smashing him. If you don’t get off your stool you’re quitting. Most recent In a big fight would be poirers tap shouldn’t count as charles grabbed his gloves to get him in that position. Those things happen a lot. Especially on the ground trying to control wrists.

Credit to Yoel to get the knockout but it was a bullshit move. As the ref you don’t really want to dq a guy like that either. But he’s pretending he can’t understand basic commands of every start to a round won’t get up etc. and he was hurt badly. You have to blame the ref for not stopping the fight and allowing it to happen.
Tldr
Kennedy cheated by hooking the inside of the glove bud.

Still a dumb situation all around. They should change the gloves or start taking points. Marc Goddard is the worst at this, constant warnings and no deductions

If you ain’t cheating you ain’t trying ….when I boxed I threw rabbit punches , low blows and elbows when I felt the ref was on opposite side or felt I could get away with it ….. It’s not a foul unless the ref calls it lol
Harper the piece of shit

Where does that say he can be DQ'd for holding the gloves or the shorts? Now if you want to bring in punishment for intentional fouls - you're correct if Yoel could not continue then yes he could be DQ'd for it. However Yoel was fine to continue. Not to mention fighters grab shorts and gloves constantly with nothing more than a warning. You claiming it should have been a DQ is absolutely retarded. He should have gotten a warning if anything.

Silva cheated when he grabbed Sonnens shorts.
Conor cheated when he grabbed Khabibs shorts.
Charles cheated when he hooked Dustins gloves.

Same thing we saw with Yan/Sterling and Weidman/Mousasi. Yes if it was JUST the glove grab (or an illegal knee to a downed opponent) then I would say warning.

But it's the severity of damage that followed that makes it a DQ. Kennedy's cheating lead directly to seriously hurting Romero. If it didn't then why don't we just let fighters get an eye poke, nut shot and a knee to the face of a downed opponent and a soccer kick in then deduct a point or 2 and let the fight continue? It's because the opponent already absorbed fighting changing damage based off the cheater's cheating. The fight can't continue.

It's crazy. The same people (I'm not saying you in particular) who say Romero was cheating by following the ref's instructions try to downplay or act like Kennedy didn't blatantly cheat and tried to act like he did nothing wrong.

Nah.
As much as people want to hate on Jon Gus was the worst serial eye poker of all time. I can't remember a fight where he didn't eye poke his opponents. Shogun, Glover, Jan, Jimi, DC, (Jon?)

Why? If the A Silva vs Bisping fight taught anyone anything it's that you fight (or beat the shit out of your lifeless opponent) until the ref stops you.

Silva clearly knocked Bisping senseless. Instead of raining on extra, unnecessary damage Silva walks off, Herb doesn't stop the fight, Bisping makes it out the 3rd and goes on to win 48-47. (Honestly should've been 47-47 draw because round 3 should've been 10-8 Silva)
Anyway the point is fight until someone is pulling you off or don't at your own risk.
