Poirier - Dusting had hard training camp with great wrestler Gamrot who greatly increased Diamonds skills on the ground and TDD.

I love how this is the talking point when the obvious rebuttal is that Gamrot should've gotten the title shot then.

Gamrot:

1. had a longer streak than Poirier
2. was the backup fighter for UFC 294 until Islam handpicked short notice Volk instead
3. apparently was the much harder matchup for Islam if even just training with him could so improve one's skills
4. even had more notice than Poirier as he fought a week before Poirier/Denis

Dudes can't simply admit that Islam once again tried to handpick an opponent in Poirier and it unexpectedly backfired when Poirier didn't get submitted early like everyone expected. Which is hilarious as everybody forgets that Islam nearly kimura'd Poirier in the 1st and we all thought the fight was over then and there like we, and obviously Islam, had expected would happen.

Luckily for Islam though Gamrot once again had to fight someone else and just lost to Hooker so guess he's dodged that for now and can go fight Arman... who he's already beaten... and who'd also lost to Gamrot.
