Diego Lopes robbed a KO win from himself - He KO´ed Ortega for a split second by shouting his brain down but waked him up with the following punch

Same was said about Tito vs Belfort
Allegedly, Vitor shut down Ortiz with an unasuming ko, and followed with more punches that waked Tito up to keep grinding and finally winning by dec.

* Shutting his brain down (lol, it took me a minute to understand the thread title, most likely an overlooked 'autocorrect')

Also, same with Lawler and Askren, then he got 'subbed' - terrible stuff
I'm gonna say that English isn't TS first language...

Sherbros international, we.

i feel like he robbed himself of a KO by not having better stamina. his output went to shit after the first rd. anybody else would've finished Ortega in rd 2 with the state he was in.

I love the sentiment.

and you are probably right.

English is my first language but my computer and phone are great but constantly think they know better, and I end up reading posts of mine hours later with the wrong words in them, so I just assumed.

its not really true that only big guys can recover faster in a ko.

Ortega has been finished two times by KO.
Once by Max in a doctors stoppage and the second by shoulder injury vs Yair.

Volk should also have a KO win over him from their fight, but Herb Dean is an idiot.
Ortega has been hurt much worse than vs Lopes, fought back and even won.

Moicano back in the day beat the bejesus out of him for 2 rounds before choosing to shoot on him for some reason.

That was close to this beating from memory.

I hear that.

English is also my first language, but I've been going hard for decades, so I post like I have CTE sometimes.

We need to calm that thread title down a bit... but otherwise yeah

Ortega likely would have crumpled to the mat and maybe fallen into guard in a daze, but that second shot definitely snapped him back to reality before he fell

Lopes also almost lost versus Ige for the same reason: lack of stamina.

Ige literally came off the couch to face Lopes, and (after a rough start) Ige was kicking Lopes' wilting ass at the end of the 3rd round.

Had it a been a 5-rounder, Lopes would've been finished; had Ige been in shape, Lopes would've also lost.

IMO, Diego Lopes is a very talented, very dangerous front-runner — because, like Conor, Lopes lacks Championship Stamina.

So be prepared to watch Lopes fall apart, and get stopped, in 5-Round title fights against the very best.
