Well today was awesome...
Firas could not have been better, exactly what you'd expect. Took some time even though he was about to teach a class. Talked with him about the fight breakdowns and being excited for the Ottawa card. Incredibly humble great guy, amazing to watch him work the class and a light spar with Rory. (Rory was doing a bunch of rounds so I didn't want to bother him).
Further proof that internet tough guys are the worst. Sage could not have been more approachable or willing to spend some time talking about his upcoming fight. Once we got talking and he could tell I followed fights he apologized to me for his last fight. I literally couldn't respond right away and he just laughed. He was incredibly candid about his tough run going into that fight and that he knows he should have pulled out but was too committed and called the opportunity to fight an honour. Also joked about the move up North and having to deal with snow when he first got here. Seems like he has a great relationship with Firas and Rory and is happy for the opportunity.
He is also massive for a lightweight. Didn't think it was appropriate to ask what he cuts from but both he and Rory are a reminder that even the lighter classes are no joke.
Now a massive Sage fan.
