I just finished mine using Turbotax. It used to be free, this time I had to pay 80 bucks. Not sure if there really is a free version anymore and I gotta go look for it, but they're making it harder and harder every year. Always trying to sell you some service.

I caught one at the end. They tried to make it seem like I neede to pay another 40 dollars to E-file, but I caught it. It was to get the refund 5 days early.

I dont really have anything else other than my W-2. I wasn't gonna wait for the house tax 1099 or sometrhing form from the mail. I dont tihnk that changes anything anyway. There's not much to doing my taxes, I wish it was free like before.

Not, yet. I'm waiting for some papers to arrive. I'm all set up though, having done what i can up to this point.

I haven't received my W2....

But I remember decades ago I'd have my return by Super Bowl weekend... Now I'm last in line behind all the single moms with 5 kids...

Yeah. I have to pay quarterly anyway, so I am always wanting to get everything over with for the previous year as quickly as possible to see how everything is going overall. Got to focus on what’s ahead asap

I miss getting a return. Those were the days

In Canada most tax documents aren't even available till end of February.

Why do all these people get back a shitload on taxes and ive only ever gotten nil back. They fucking discriminate against single men

That means you already got your money back throughout the year via your paycheck. The people who get the most from the refund have their paychecks subtracted throughout the year, only for them to get it back during tax time.

It’s not even fucking February yet.
I used to be a last minute April guy myself when I was younger..

The older I got the more it just became, fuck it and get it over with.

The old lady and I now just file whenever we receive our W2s and forget about it.. goes straight into the mortgage anyways so we could care less.

In Canada, there is a free online version of Intuit turbo tax. It only really works if you only have employment income - the moment you try and make charitable donations or have investment income, you are forced to pay for the paid version.

I haven't done my taxes as yet, and I am certaintly not looking forward to it. I made a good chunk of consulting income that I will have to declare and pay about 50% on.

Nope, they are going to SUCK this year. Different W2s, some disability checks, some crypto I have no idea how to do. So I'm lagging on it. I'll start next week though. I'm gonna owe so I'll do them earlier but then wait to file until last minute. They can wait until April to get my money! I always use HR Block online and it seems fine. Keep using the same service b/c they can prepopulate most of my information for me.

Not yet but I did find out the no tax on overtime thing is a bit disappointing. I didn't realize it was only the half part of time and a half so I only got a little over 3k tax free.
