This is one of the reasons I have always supported cuts. It's actually damaging to allow kids that aren't good at sports to remain on a sports team. Instead of one painful rejection, they receive years of abuse. Even the coaches hate on them because they're not allowed to get rid of them.

There's lots of people that do this on Sherdog. It's how you'll get a 2022 account, and you can tell clearly by the things that people are posting that they've been here at least a decade.

You have an interesting take on bullying - for me, bullying is something done out of malice to put another person down, or prey on someone who is not capable of defending themselves. Apart from terrorizing your siblings, it sounds like you are just beasting people in the gym and on the field.

There is no accepted definition of bullying, so yeah I'm referring to the edges rather than malicious use, in training situations. Kinda like how groups of males will tease each other to see if they can take it. Pressure testing the unit to ensure there's no weak links when shit becomes real.

I started at our boxing club at a young age along with Taekwondo, I was a nice kid that didn't want to start shit with anyone. Fast forward to high school, we had a special education boy in our art class, the nicest human I have ever seen he just has a weird thing of saying "i'm the champ" and walked around with a WWF belt in his bag, one of the "jocks" thought it would be funny to super glue his chair before he sat down and It was the saddest thing I have ever witnessed. I let it be while everyone had a shitty laugh about it. Went home and told my dad about it and he said "if you don't defend the weak than you are also weak", the next day I caught the "jock" in the hallway and I told him he was stupid for doing that and he told me he didn't want any problems with me and I just snapped, I hit him. I spent a week in suspension but he never fucked with Chris again.

When I was a little kid before 9/11. I played magic cards. It was ok to scream Middle East loudly at your friends. We had Jews and Hamas teams. There weren't enough Arabs so Hamas was pretty much made up of everyone else even sometimes Jews. There was an older Jewish kid that even the other Jews didn't like. He was one of those kids who photocopied few hundred dollar magic cards and try to pwn us with ridiculous shit.

One day we got together during the morning and decided we were going to stink bomb the kid while he was playing. We tied his shoes to the lunchroom bench then we threw a stink bomb. We all ran off laughing while screaming peace in the Middle East and random leaders of middle east countries that we saw on TV but really have no idea who they are. The older kid tried to run too but he tripped on his shoes. Even the security guards and aides were laughing too. Oh yea then the hood kids from the high school nearby came during lunch time and bullied us. We are like little stupid kids. We had no money but they robbed our black friend for his sneakers though. He got it back because undercover cops across the street were watching this whole situation unfold. They didn't want to prevent the act of violence. They just wanted a crime to be committed.

It seemed to me like most kids both got bullied, and did some bullying, at least to some degree. Even the popular kids would get bullied at least to some degree by the older popular kids. I'm ashamed to say I participated to some degree, but more than anything I think the worst was standing by when others were bullying, and I could have probably stopped it if I had stepped in.

It's kind of funny the number of people who say they never bullied anyone, I find that hard to believe. Most kids picked on someone at least a few times in their life, but when you're the one doing the bullying your perspective is radically different than the perspective of the receiver. Easy to tell yourself that mean comment wasn't bullying when it wasn't directed towards you.

It's also interesting how bullying in athletics is tolerated and was even encouraged by staff, but bullying around intellect wasn't met with the same attitude. Maybe we wouldn't have as many idiots who don't realize they're idiots if all the remedial and average students had to spend a day in honors courses with the smart kids and teachers barking at them that they're not cut out for thinking when they struggle with the material.

One of my oldest and closest friends is someone who I bullied and ended up fist fighting. A few of the people who bullied me are acquaintances I have seen a few times after HS.
