RDA wasn't out, he was standing and had his hands up. He was taking a pummeling, but he wasn't out. He's the champion, do you think the ref should have gave it a few more seconds at least?

His hands were up but he wasn't defending himself really, good stoppage.

Ref will do it for you.

There would probably be no controversy if Eddie quickly took him down and did the exact same thing. There isn't any difference between the two though.

I usually agree with stoppages but after rewatching it I think Herb should have let RDA at least a few more seconds. He was getting hit but stayed on his feet, kept his hands up and was trying to recover. A bit early if you ask me.

Need to see some gifs to see how vintage Herb Dean-stoppage this one was.

even rda didnt protest.it was a good stoppage.

I thought it could have been let go a little longer, I seen fighters come back from worse and comeback to win.

could have even been stopped a bit sooner. dude took mad shots and could barely stand when he wobbled across the octagon lol. the point is not to go until someone goes to sleep

He was getting pounded. Was similar to the TJ/Barao 2 stoppage. RDA didn't argue either which says it all.

RDA took three flush uppercuts right before the stoppage. Any more damage would have been unnecessary.

This is what I was thinking. If RDA immediately started bitching, I would say early since he was still up and defending, but it seemed like he himself agreed with it.

In MMA standing TKOs happen a lot less but in Boxing I've seen way earlier stoppages. RDA definitely took a huge amount of damage so although it probably could have gone on a little bit longer I think it was fine

Thanks for the post. and out on your feet stoppages are rare as they should be. But this was one of them if you watched the fight.

No protest is also pretty fucking solid sign it was good if youre not a retard.

Let's wait for the new testing results before we jump the gun!

He didn't seem to argue the stoppage. He knew he was beat.

I thought so at first, but you can see RDA waving out that he was done. He even said on the post fight that he wasn't completely out, but that he was rocked pretty hard and it was the right call. /thread :)
