Did the UFC make a combi deal with Colby to make him drop Masvidal charges for a title shot?

Never heard this discussed here, this really deserved its own thread

Colby implied on Bisping's podcast that the case is still pending but who knows

Yeah. The UFC is going to make some shady deal with Colby that would severely hurt their brand for the sake of a rapidly depreciating asset and just hope that he doesn't eventually go public about it... because Colby is so discrete. lmao.

I'm not usually one to call people conspiracy theorists, but this is one of the dumbest theories I have ever heard.

Is he not responsible for the opponents he chooses to fight? Do you think the UFC is forcing him to exclusively fight guys on their way out?

The UFC is responsible for that, not Colby

Colby is just fighting who they put in front of him

Only has fought the "names" at WW

A superstar like Colby isn't gonna fight some no name, the list of fighters he has fought were well estabishes names like Lawler, Masvidal, Dos Anjos, the list goes on

To get a fight against Colby you have to be a well established name in MMA

Sorry bud but you gotta be pretty damn ignorant to think Colby isn’t picking and choosing his opponents. You think he’s only been offered fights against Lawler, Woodley, Masvidal and the Usman title shots in the past five years? Dana said for months he wanted to see Colby fight Khamzat but I guess he was lying and they never tried to make that fight.

Sounds very fishy indeed. I wouldn't be surprised at all. This will become a lot more likely to be true if we find out Mas did drop the charges; the resolution will find its way into the media one way or another.

Colby doesn't have much of a way to beat Leon anyway though. No way Colby is doing any better at getting him down than Usman and no way Colby wins in the standup.

Had Khamzat actually made weight and destroyed Nate Diaz with ease, Colby vs Khamzat would have happened but Khamzat couldn't even make weight and tanked the event which now who knows what weight class or even when Khamzat will ever fight again

Colby wants the fights against the fighters who can actually make weight and who are well established names in MMA

Those fighters you have mentioned are well established names in MMA and also are fights that actually sell

Why should Colby fight no names and unprofessional fighters who can't even make weight?

People who just don't like Colby are just resorting to mental gymnastics to discredit him and are using the "troll card" when they are called out on it

Would just be easier to say they don't like him
