Its kind of leaning torward it....i see a lot of similiarities between dricus vs sean strickland and Bonnar and Forrest Griffin style of fighters that we had in the 2000s.

For me it looks like the MW era returned to a 2000 MW kind of category.

It looks like it, because they both throw some shitty punches and have bad footwork.
But Sean would make Forrest miss at a 80% rate.
His average is 61% with a lot of those 39% just being glanzing blows.

Well, seeing as how Bonnar and Griffin were light heavyweights, returning to their era for the MW division would be the prime Anderson Silva years.

So, no, not so much.

They weren't mw though

It's more the Tim Sylvia/Randy Couture era of MW... imo

I didn't call anyone last night to tell them to change it to UFC.

Perhaps TS' eyesight isn't what it used to be - its been 20 years since that fight and they weren't remotely similar.

There’s usually a changing of the guard at MW in between great champs. We had Franklin then Anderson… we then had a gap period of mediocre champs like Weidman, Rockhold, and Bisping before Izzy took over and became the next great successor.

I think Pereira was going to be that next dominant champ but he was too big for the division and eventually planned to move to LHW.

Now we’re in another gap of mediocre champs like Strickland and DDP before the next big successor takes over. I think Khamzat, Borralho, or Imavov have the chance to be that next special dominant champ.

Worse IMO

Franklin, Bustamante, Okami, Hendo, Marquardt were all solid. They all beat Sean. Maybe the Crow too.

DDP beats all but Hendo and Maybe Bustamante
