Before the fight against mcgregor we had the pleasure of reading great threads from hardcores like “don’t you know who Eddie Alvarez is”

Then after he lost to mcgregor he became a can who was lucky to ko RDA and was gifted a title shot with 2-1 record

Now that he has beat Gaethje and Porier it seems like he has gained some respect back on here and people all agree that he is deserving of another title shot.

Is this just the natural course of sherdog logic? Or does it take a few wins after a loss to Mcgregor for sherdog to move on? Look at Holloway, Eddie, Porier. All top of the division and people forget they were cans when Conor was done with them

I think they do more important things than read this shit pre fight

He did get lucky with RDA. Eddie was being picked apart.

Sherdog logic = to open stupid, pointless thread like that.

Debating past debates - what can be more pathetic?

/thread.

Eddie was always my friend.

Nope, one of the most embarrassing displays in the Octagon.

y'all really don't know who Eddie Alvarez do you !

"Y'all really have no clue who Eddie Alvarez is do you?". You weren't even close to quoting that shit right lol

I don't know about all that, what I do know was that his fight against Conor was beyond embarrassing. What a masterclass Conor put on that day. And Eddie talked so much shit beforehand as well...

It's the McGregor Effect, man. He's made every single person he's fought in the UFC look bad, with the exception of Diaz and, realistically, he beat the shit out of Diaz for all but a few minutes of both fights. He toy'd with Holloway, Poirier, Mendes (fuck, he was laughing at Mendes while Mendes was trying to gnp him), Aldo, Alvarez and Siver. He made them all look like rookies.

He beat Porier?

I remember Poirer whooping him, Eddie making a comeback and then landing 2 seemingly blatantly illegal knees to a downed Dustin with the second one actually landing clean to the back of his head that no matter how long Dustin took he wasn't coming back from.

Then Eddie had to get his arm twisted to accept a rematch with Dustin and after turning the fight down twice finally agreed to a rematch after getting a new contract.

Losing to McGregor is nothing to be a ashamed about but it's the fact he said "go in, take him down, submit it, easy money" and instead decided to brawl with a fighter who's best technique is counterstriking.

Eddie Alvarez was already a paper champ that got lucky against RDA. He got his ass beat by Cerrone and was gifted a shot after 2 split decision wins, I've said that all along lol. I feel like people just wanted to get hyped up, if he was defending against anybody else nobody would have cared but since it was Mcgregor people had to hype him up. Just like how when anybody from 145-170 finishes a fight (no matter what they are ranked or who their opponent is) you always have at least one "this dude would wreck Mcgregor!" thread.

Tell me TS when did Eddie beat Poirier?

There seems to be a predicament here. If sherdog wants Porier to win....wait but mcgregor beat Porier too so I thought Porier was a can? How can these two fighters be next in line for a title shot if they are cans?
