He got hit in the nuts. He didn't fake that. It's his right to take 5 minutes to recover. Most guys take a few minutes. For a guy like Romero with such a poor gas tank. It was a smart decision to take the full 5 minutes.

The fact that there are more "yes" votes than "no" votes at the time of this writing shows how stupid the average person is. Like George Carlin said, think about how dumb the average person is and then imagine that half the population is even dumber.

Unfortunately that holds true for the MMA judges as well.

I'm sure he milked the time, but the low blow was clear.

It's not against the rules to take advantage of the rules.
It is not taking advantage of the rules as you say, it’s taking advantage of a bad call from the ref. You have five minutes to recover from the foul. Not five minutes to recover your gas tank. The kick clearly didn’t affect him, he just took the opportunity to take a breather. I thought it was lame, definitely outside the spirit of the rules but the ref gave him the break so I blame the ref. I don’t think anyone’s saying what he did was a foul, but it’s definitely not within the rules like you say. It’s just that it’s the refs job to enforce the rules, and if a ref gives a fighter a good break you can’t blame the fighter for taking it.

Should've taken the whole 5 minutes, he's fucking 41, gotta take every change you get.

Fuck OP...Damage control

He beat the fuck out of whittaker....there was only 1 guy who was gonna finisht the fight...and that was yoel.....FUCK OP bullshit propananda campaign

You're blind, replay showed he got kicked right in the nuts, so he was entitled to having a 5 minute recovery time.

He not even took a full 5 minutes, maybe just about 2 minutes and those scums still hating lol

This is irrelevant. He got objectively kicked in the nuts, which can't be disputed since we all saw the replay. As a result, he gets 5 minutes to recover. The degree that he was actually feeling pain in his testicles is completely irrelevant. He legally gets the time to recover, and he would be stupid not to use it.

its dat but its also bias.people will always choose to support their fighter n be completely subjective no matter how retarded n stupid their reasoning is.i have done it in the past unfortunately knowing fully well how stupid i sounded.people also love to be contrarians n trolls

Did Whittaker tried to grab the cage and spam oblique kicks? Yes.
Did Whittaker kicked Yoel's groin? Yes.
Did Yoel deserve all 5minutes for Whittaker's mistake? Yes.

Romero can dish out oblique kicks but can’t take them?

Whittaker got even and rightly so.

lol hell yes...Romero is a sneaky mofo but that doesnt change the fact thay he knows how to lay waste on mofuckas

How the fuck do you know all that? Replay showed he clearly got kicked in the balls. Getting kicked in the balls by a 6-year-old girl can hurt you, let alone from a 200 lb combat sports champion. Yet you're absolutely convinced the kick did not hurt him at all. Your opinion is completely idiotic. It wasn't a bad call by the ref, the replay clearly showed it was the right call. By the way, Romero came back quicker than he had to anyway.

I feel like this is common sense. Why is it so hard for some people to understand this?

Did you not see the replay? Blame Whittaker for giving Romero time to recover.

How can anyone say he was faking it when they immediately showed the replay showing him savagely get kicked right in the balls

The kick got him but he did milk it. He didnt even react to the kick except to look to the ref.

Blatantly he did, yes.... Glancing blow to the nuts that didn't impact him... Romero was taking a cardio break because Whitaker touched his nuts, not a shot to the nuts break because his nuts where hurting.

I haven't watched the fight, and I'm also an Aussie and a Whittaker fan, but even a glancing shot to the nuts can suck sometimes

The complaints he lost after missing weight and cheating are a bit rich.
