I just have a thing for big, suplexy takedowns and quite enjoyed his style. Obviously very limited guy but usually entertaining early on in fights.

Pretty much this. Almost nothing like a big slam in MMA. Obviously the rampage/Arona slam, Rory suplexing Nate all over the place was amazing, the Randleman/Fedor slam is iconic. I used to like Gerald Harris just because of the possibility of some slams.
