Did Ngannou really think there was a market for him outside the UFC?

I think it comes ultimately down to Ngannou not wanting to bend the knee for Dana White. Fedor didn't and lots of other fighters simply do not like uncle fester. I think it's reasonable to assume, whatever org he signs with, PFL or One FC, will be able to match and pay more than what he was making in the UFC, not their most recent offer. I think he also gets to do a big boxing match as part of that contract and that is what he will do. who knows if it pays more in the long run, or if it works out in his favor? it's interesting in 2023, we have the highest level UFC HW title holder, champion, prospect, actually leaving the organization for another one. to me, it's good for the sport, it gets people talking, and should ultimately get more views for another org, which is always good. more competition, is better. forces everyone to up their game.

The question is ,can any champion leave UFC like Francis did in modern time.

Khabib perhaps if he will make a return. Highly doubt the rest can.

i mean, i think they can. francis proved it. you just have to be willing to walk away and be champ lol. i think francis is a man of integrity with different goals. he didn't want to make more money and be dana's bitch still. he wanted enough money AND the opportunity to box. i don't think khabib ever comes back. and i don't think other UFC champs will leave like Francis. but who knows. exciting times. more MMA organizations, more exposure, is always good!

Eventually Leon Edwards could if he will not make over 1M

We need an african promotion. Like in Nigeria. Would be epic.

Whether in another MMA org, Boxing, or Kickboxing…

Fans from other sports like Boxing or Kickboxing are far too educated to buy into a rudimentary striker even being able to compete with their athletes let alone go straight to the top of the food chain… they’re not paying for a squash match.

Meanwhile he’s pricing himself out of MMA despite not being a draw.

What are the motives behind Ngannous career self sabotage?
There is a market but smaller orgs can't pay anywhere as much as he wants, and high profile boxers don't want to risk humiliation of being ko'd by an MMA fighter. He is a much more dangerous opponent in boxing than Anderson or Conor due to his one hit ko power.

Can mods change this poster’s name?

Francis will make bank when he fights a big name boxer, so he'll be just fine.
Lol the chairman of something that doesn't exist is already talking about a "warm up fight" because there are no big paying fights available to him.

Truth is any experienced boxer would likely beat him then all the clout is gone before it begins, besides he would prob price himself out of that anyhow. good deal for Frank for the mma side of things but how in the heck is PFL going to make a return on this? If his opponent get's 2 million and Frank get's % of ppv and whatever his base rate is I can't see them getting anywhere near the black. Other org's have went down this road and almost all have failed, who is going to shell out ppv money to see frank fight Ben Rothwell or who ever else they manage to get?
