Did Mir even train for this fight?

I'm a Frank Mir fan. And we've seen him come into the cage at various weights, some heavier than others. But when he walked into the cage tonight, he didn't just look heavy but he looked so soft that it didn't even look like he trained for this fight. He looked like he'd been binge eating for the last 8 months and never got up off the couch.

He looked like the fattest fat guy I've ever seen in MMA.

I couldnt stop looking at his belly.

Mir came for a paycheck and nothing more.

Mir looked like he was 6 months pregnant as Hunt looked solid.

that was the worst shape I've ever seen him in physically

He trained the spoon and fork technique

Of course, he trained cardio by walking to the fridge and back to the couch 17 times a day.

He was in horrible shape. That belly flab made Mark Hunt look like Yoel Romero.

it's almost like he tried as much as he could to look like a couch potato

Looked like he had no idea how to beat Mark Hunt.

Mir hasn't looked particularly good in a while. He was nearly KO'd stiff in the Duffee fight, and Bigfoot is seemingly a shell of himself. Its not like he looked particularly in shape during those fights either.

He was also clearly out of shape for the Arlovski fight.

Mir has effectively stopped training professional for his fights the last few years. He has his own private facility in Las Vegas. He hits pads and does a little grappling with Ricky but that is essentially it.

Anyone with eyeballs knows he was not in any kind of fight shape and didn't bother preparing.

I get it - the heavyweight division is full of geriatrics and the bar is pretty low. A veteran like Mir can fight out of shape against nearly everyone save for the top 5 and have at least a 50/50 chance of winning. So why not just collect his big paycheck etc.

So he's doing the hammer house training?
