One of koschecks signature moves is baiting his opponent into throwing an illegal knee, then tricking the ref into taking a point away. Thats what came into my mind for the lawlor fight. Kos was doing well then dropped to a knee as lawlor went to throw a knee to try to make it an illegal shot. But the ref didnt stop it, because as you can see from the GIF lawlor hit the knee right before Kos was down, this fakery attempt by kos allowed lawlor to get to the side and land some punches.

Got knocked the fuck out.

Maybe he was thinking about faking the knee but it didn't look like it.

The fact Kos was looking at Lawler the whole time and how he kept trying to kick him off the whole time was pretty good evidence he was fine.

Awkward situation. Early stoppage but not that bad. Lawler would have probably stiffied kos with a few more shots anyway

Seriously? When he got back up he didn't know what happened. I have to disagree

Pretty sure he didn't know what happened that would make Herb Dean stop the fight. That was a premature stoppage. Kos was still intelligently defending himself. To say Lawler "wouldnt've have let him get back up" is stupid. Early stoppage. Kos didn't even get Henderson/Fedor'd, he wasn't out at all

I thought Robbie rocked him with a knee to the body and he was shooting a desperation takedown.

Intelligently defending yourself includes gazing deeply into Lawlers eyes while not protecting his face and getting clobbered on? Go away.

I don't blame Herb for the stoppage. Maybe Kos was still lucid, but as a ref, when you see Lawler bouncing someone's head off the mat like a basketball, it's time to call that shit.

gimme more of dis intelligent defense.

Kos's head leaning forward like that blankly staring should solidify that he wasn't there.

Are you serious about this early stoppage thing?? so referee should wait until the fighter is really hurt and totally unconcious no way.

Kos was getting punched in the face and not defending, how many unanswered strikes before it should get stopped?

Fedor was getting punched in the back of the head and was never out, pretty sure thats a completely different situation

The fetal position will stop a fight quickly. Go to your back, turtle up, but never go into the fetal... you'll get a loss every time. I think it was an early stoppage but I don't blame herb, I'd probably done the same thing.

you saw what Kos was doing as intelligent defense?

Kos wasn't KOed but wasn't "intelligently defending himself" either. I like the stoppage. Kos wasn't doing anything and should be thankful Lawler didn't have the chance to hurt him really bad.

But still, I would have liked to have seen Kos take a few more bombs to face, "Just in case" :icon_chee

five unanswered shots = OK? you need to get rid of that old TV set and get yourself up to date.
