I just watched the first UFC 235 Embedded

And I noticed that Greg is nowhere to be seen and it seems that Jon only trains with Wink at Wink's gym. Did they have a fallout or something?

I don't remember reading anything about it.

He lost some passion for this stuff he shows up to corner people and cash some checks.

Greg has been a ghost for quite some time, according to all reports.

I wouldn't be surprised if Greg has fallen into a deep depression for selling his name/gym/reputation down the river by getting into bed with a shifty fuck like Wink.

He is still there, but by name only.
(Check out Cerrone on JRE if you want more info...stuff like Cerrone always paid Jackson direct, even after Wink bought the gym. That explains why Wink decided to corner Mike Perry and told Cerrone to get steppin').

If you're keen to know more about the gym's demise, I did a write-up on the crazy shady bullshit going down at JacksonWink these days:

You hit the nail on the head mate. Good thread, I remember it now after the re-read. Guessing they focus everything on Jones now.

jones seems to be pulsing in this thumbnail

do the ookie kokey then they turn around, that what it all about

That's some pretty awful mitt holding.

Wink bought the gym? His own? The one that Jon trains at now or what?
Back in the day, Greg Jackson was the man behind the gym until 2007 when striking coach (with bags of money) Mike Winkeljohn bought it and rebranded as Jackson Wink MMA Academy.

From what I have gathered, Greg Jackson was always the intelligence and training expert. Winklejohn was a "striking coach" but can only really say that he made Holly Holm successful. I believe most of the early work into Jon Jones was by Greg Jackson (worth noting that Jones wasn't with Jackson for his first few UFC fights and he performed notably worse; his skill was there but he was raw with bad gameplans and didn't always finish as a result). Jackson was the "gameplan king" and they also had (at the time) advanced strength & conditioning training/ways of getting guys to cut weight.

So nowadays, the gym is effectively a shell of itself. The brains (Greg Jackson) have left and the body (Wink) has gone out on the corner whoring itself for cash.

Good read thanks. I didn’t know that. So Greg left?

Jon has always stated he works more day to day with wink and Greg is the mastermind that comes up with the game plans

Greg was on the MMA hour today talking about John's fight, so no, they didnt split I guess

It doesn't look like he has outright left the gym, but he has definitely stepped back from the gym a lot.
From outside apperances, like you observed - he's nowhere to be seen for Jones heading into a title fight. Previously, that would have been unheard of.

He does show up from time to time in corners; we can't really know how involved he is or why he has stepped back (health concerns, specifically mental health concerns is my best guess).

You have to remember his gym was once the most highly regarded and successful gym in MMA (by win rate and by number of fighters / caliber of fighters represented). It was like a running gag for a while that every good fighter would leave their gym and go train with Jackson.
After reaching those heights... and all the costs that come with it (Dana White was blaming Greg Jackson Gameplans for making MMA boring)....

I wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't have the same mentality to continue. It would be tough to find the motivation at this stage of his career.
