No. It will be already a miracle if he makes 10m and especially IF he gets the fight (in two years, after Fury fights Usyk and then the rematch clause … assuming he doesn’t retire or chooses way more miney vs AJ).

With champ PPV he would have likely made over 5m vs Jones and then if he won several more millions for the following fights, plus separate endorsements, likely a documentary or movie in his life, etc … now he seriously risks “oblivion” and he doesn’t have many years left to monetize his career as a fighter.

He wants to box. Not sure why people aren't understanding. If it was Fury for 10 mill and Jones for 10 mill, he would take the Fury fight.

It’s very unfortunate that it had to end this way. I was looking forward to Ngannou vs Jones.

Ultimately, the UFC is the biggest platform. It really depends on what Ngannou accomplishes for now on, but I doubt another promotion is going to pay him a lot more then what the UFC offered.

I wish him the best in his next endeavour.

The Fury fight is far from a guarantee, besides he is supposed to be fighting Usyk this year which means even if this fight happens it would be towards end of 2023 at best. So what's he going to do in meantime? I'm not sure with his asking price and not able to commit to any org he will be sought after that much.

What part don't you get Jon's refused to fight Francis. As soon as Francis was no longer in the picture Jon's gets Gane who will be easier for Jon's to beat.

As he has proven before Fury decides who he wants to fight. When Fury wrecks Usyk Fury will go for the money fight against Ngannou. Fury vs Ngannou will get booked as Boxing vs MMA, Champion vs Champion as Ngannou never lost his belt in the cage and it will make tons of money for both fighters.

Fury has fought Derrick Chisora like 5 times

He will absolutely fight Ngannou.

No, he won't. For a multitude of reasons.

Exactly! He absolutely will not as soon as his promoter tells him he won't make any money and no promoter on either side will even try to make that fight because Ngannous is a dead fish that no promoter is going to waste time and money trying to push over any actual boxer. Francis has already proven adamantly that he will not doing anything at all to sell PPVs for UFC and won't even do anything to help himself. He is boring as could possibly be and won't make a lick of effort to do anything to promote a fight but expects everything handed to him because he had 1 whole title defense in UFC. He is dumb as rock apparently unable to understand people pay to be entertained as guys like Conor, Nate, Paddy, O'Malley, etc have shown without even winning fights for years while making tons of money for being entertaining that earns them sponsorships and people spending lots of money buying their merchandise to wear to the event they bought tickets to see them perform.

I’m sure he just wanted to be free at this point and the money didn’t matter

Nice fantasy. It's not going to happen, though. LOL at calling Francis a money fight for Fury. He could make 10 times more fighting Joshua.

He needs to be with his family in his home country. He made enough money to take care of his family for centuries. He will be the king & the jester.

Francis absolutely did the right thing.

UFC contracts are sickening.

But the UFC has the sheep by the balls.

I imagine what we see is the tip of the iceberg.

After Ngannou got wrestlefucked by Stipe and lost a staring match with Lewis, the UFC seemed happy to let him trawl through various contenders. Dude whines about not getting a TS the whole way, then when he gets it and wins, he whines about everything else while keeping the title hostage. Meanwhile UFC books an interim match up at the drop of a hat.

All these things you can see the relationship deteriorate. And while I can understand fighters seeing their value and pushing for more, at the same time you have to keep your momentum going with regular acts of violence. Secondly, its the fighters in the top 10-15 that are still getting 12/12, still working 9-5 jobs that concern me. I care much less about Ngannou or JBJ looking for boxing level paydays. As many here have pointed out, if Ngannou fought more regularly, he'd have the money he's looking for by now.

hes not going to make jack shit, dude is a super sloppy striker who only has power and thats it...he gets knocked out in boxing vs anyone decent, and without the stigma of another promotions champion, the biggest mma promotion in this case, his value drops significantly, hes just another guy, and he was never that big to begin with.. he shoulda lost to Gane, that 5th round was pathetic, and he will now be down the FEDOR road, good luck cuz hes gona need it.

Funny how you say "nice fantasy" with my prediction of Fury vs Ngannou in a boxing PPV. That "nice fantasy" is exactly what almost everyone on this forum said when I said Fedor's last fight will be against Bader for the Bellator HW Championship a few months back. Well that "nice fantasy" became a reality and so will Fury vs Ngannou mark my words.

Do star players in other sports ever get completely screwed by declaring free agency?
Not the best comparison because there's other teams in the league. Him boxing also would be like an NBA guy going over to play with a pro euro team in-between his NBA games.

He probs wanted to box also and they wouldn't let him which was a deal breaker I'm assuming. If the money was good enough would he still wanna box too or accept that he's just a ufc man. I dunno

The thing is Ngannou didnt left, he was basically fired. I would put my hand in fire he was thinking that there is no way UFC would fire him.
Oh no, he left, when your contract runs out and you refuse to sign back you were not fired, you left.

Ya, I'm sure the boxing thing was a sticking point as Frank said he wanted to be "free" however you cant blame the UFC for not wanting to let him go box whenever he felt like it as it would potentially hold up the division for years.
