Did Fedor duck Uber Reem in Strikeforce?

The reason why I ask is, I read a post stating as much, and I was genuinely curious as to what actually went down. I just remember at the time, Reem came back to the states for an MMA match after doing his K-1 thing, and the big fight of that time was Fedor/Reem, and for whatever reason it didn't happen. Was it because of the SF HW tourney, and Fedor got injured, or was it a plain duck?

Anyone have the full and unadulterated story, and no bias please.

Overeem seemed to think so at the time. As did many people.

To be honest I think he maybe did. A lot of people were afraid of Overeem back then, he was on a serious roll and clearly on some top grade PEDs, nobody wanted a part of him. He was a scary, scary man back then, just destroying everyone he fought with ease, in no time flat.

I remember Finkelstein, Fedors manager calling out Overeem for being a 'steroid bully' and demanding some major testing to be done on Overeem.

Fedor's management did. I don't see Fedor giving a fuck on who he fights, but he was basically letting Vadim and M-1 handle every aspect of his career at that time and they probably thought it was in Fedor's best interest to side step Reem.

Besides, Fedor ducks nobody. Any time you think Fedor has ducked, it's probably because his managers didn't sign the fight. Fedor fears no one and he takes on all comers. He is afraid of nobody and you can see it in the way he fights. He is never scared in the ring or cage no matter who he fights. He always dives right in with a rush combo clinch and is super aggressive.

Anyone who seriously thinka Fedor is ducking anyone is an idiot.

I don't buy this excuse for one second. While you're right about Overeem Fedor made his career fighting in an org where you would pick up your steroid prescription with your paycheck. He never thought twice about fighting Randleman ffs.

In 2010 not many people were lining up to fight Overeem. He had an amazing run in the K-1 Grand Prix beating some of the very best strikers on the planet.

Fedor very clearly did not want that fight. Hard to blame him when the guy was clearly juicing.

Both were in the tournament. If Fedor advanced and Overeem didn't pull out then they would have faced each other.
