Did Conor talk any s--- towards Gaethje after this one?Wi

With his big bad titanium leg no less ? He should be ready but he knows he doesn't any of that that he saw over the weekend

Gaethje likely takes Conors soul if they ever fight

Conor in his prime finishes Justin, in my opinion. But Conor is far from his prime. Today I think Justin finishes Conor instead. Especially after Conor’s recent leg injury.

I'm just saying usually he's mouthy towards Justin

no congratulations no comment he's scured lol

Conor's prime is a myth...his biggest win in so called prime is Edgy Alvarez.
Dude was always getting stylistic good opponents so ufc can build hype around him...his title eliminator fight was against Dennis Siver ffs.

Conor's prime is a myth...

Are you saying that Conor didn’t have a period in his career when he was at his best as a fighter? If not, what exactly are you saying?

his biggest win in so called prime is Edgy Alvarez.

In LW, yes. The same Alvarez that KOd Gaethje two fights after he himself got TKOd by Conor. And Gaethje is not all that different from Alvarez in his style.

Conman was never the best fighter at 155. Even when he was the champ.

He was the best at 145 though.

It depends what you mean. Maybe Khabib would have beaten Conor back in 2016, I don’t know if that is what you mean. If you instead mean something like that Conor cutting down to 145lbs is a better fighter than Conor when he doesn’t have to cut all the way down to 145lbs, everything else being equal, is a better fighter then I don’t agree. Maybe you mean something else like Conor in 2015 was better than Conor in 2016 or something like that …

I do agree that Conor was the best FW at his time fighting in that division.

Yeah, I mean he lucked out fighting Eddie. Khabib would have beaten him when he was the champ.

Not just khabib, Tony too. Maybe RDA.

I don’t think Conor was especially lucky against Eddie.

I think all those three would have been interesting matches. I’d give Conor the edge in all those matchups back in 2016.
RDA lost to both Eddie and Tony back in 2016.
Tony was great, but has always been hittable (e.g. the Lando Vannata fight was in 2016 and Conor was a better finisher than Lando for sure).
Khabib was also more hittable back in 2016 (e.g. Michael Johnson fight in 2016), but might have still been able to take Conor down and win even in 2016.

I kind of feel like people forget McGregor in his prime is a featherweight. He is relatively unproven at lightweight. I mean the guy has literally won one fight at 155 in his entire career.

There is really no reason to think McGregor would beat the current contenders in the LW division. He just hasn't fought anyone at that level at 155 except Eddie a long time ago.

I also don't really think he's past his prime. He's still doing the things he always did, just hasn't been winning as much lately. Fast starter, wins striking exchanges, has a lot of power - none of that has went away, it just didn't matter against Dustin and Khabib. Though he didn't do poorly against them, at least not as bad as people like to say.

But against Gaethje? I don't think there's a reason to favor him. Connor is a solid top ten guy at 155, but he's not beating Islam, Gaethje, Dustin etc. He's probably the same level as Chandler or Rafael if he's not too past it.

I am getting pretty tired of hearing that… no his title eliminator was not against Dennis Sivir. He was already understood he was getting a Title Shot before Sivir. He basically took Sivir as a time filler waiting for Jose.

he had done more then enough within the division to warrant a TS already.

The Conor that could barely squeak past Nate Diaz - after being decisively beaten by him - was not going to beat Khabib. "More hittable" lol. Dude's never been particularly hittable, and Conor didn't have a chance to try until after his gas tank and power were drained.
He might have cracked RDA, but that's far from a sure thing. And Tony's recovery before the Justin fight would have drowned Conor pretty readily unless there was a trigger-happy ref involved.

Conor was never the top LW.

After yesteday's fight it's clear to me that Dustin and Oliveira have better striking than Justin and Chandler. Conor has the skillset to beat Gaethje, just depends how far removed from his best form he is
