I'm not sure if Tom could have continued or not but a rematch on the White House card would make him a lot more money.

Tom knows that if Alex fights, he's getting Jones, it won't be Tom vs. Alex or Tom vs. Jones on the White House card.

Tom knows that Gane is too dangerous to fight with 1 eye and the fight was pretty even until the eye poke.
