Diaz vs McGregor 2 is one of the most overrated fights ever

Nate getting pinged around the cage for a rd and a half, then starting to gain traction on a fatiguing irishman, always a treat.

I thought Hendo won the first 3 rounds 10-9 but it was a fight as soon as Rosenthal said 'Fight.' at the start of round 1.

In terms of drama and what was at stake it was one of the greatest for sure. Conor has put on better technical masterclasses but this was very entertaining as it was a war that forced both fighters to dig deep and we learned a lot about the characters of both men, great fight.
 
I wasn't aware it was rated so highly. I haven't seen it since watching the live broadcast, but my fuzzy memory of it doesn't stand out as one of the greatest fights of all time.
 
It’s not the best UFC fight of all time (I’ll go with Shogun-Hendo 1 for that) but it’s very very good. It was a huge event, and a high stakes matchup after Conor got choked out the first time. It had a shitload of action and was very competitive though all 5 rounds. I’d probably rank it in the Top 10 best UFC fights all time.
 
McGregor said, "I'm not here to take part; I'm here to take over."

Against Diaz I, McGregor only proved he couldn't take take it. After a decent one round, all McGregor proved is he couldn't see the better side of Round 2 against basically a tough, but mediocre scrub.

Against Diaz II, McGregor proved that that he could do "a little better," and do well for two rounds, but again faded still barely made it out alive.

Against Khabib, McGregor proved he should've stayed at FW.

McGregor knows in his bones that he will never "take over" at LW. He's too small and doesn't really hit hard enough at lightweight to be dangerous like he was a featherweight. At best, he has a few more cherry picks left in him, but he leaves the division with a 50-50 record.
 
Se fights are great live but don't hold up on rewatch. Doesn't mean it's a bad fight, we just know the outcome already.
 
It's a fun fight. I'd have no issue sitting through it a few more times. Definitely gets a bit overhyped tho

All Time Great Fight.. Too many people around here that cry when Conor's name gets mentioned.. They can't evaluate a great fight..

If the UFC are trying to market it as the best ever then you are correct. It was a decent scrap but had to many quiet moments.

Best ever for me is Joanna vs Wei lei.
