Conor almost certainly isn't able to make 145 at this point, to defend his title. That rules that out.

Therefore he should fight for the interim LW title. It'd keep a title fight main event (like at UFC 189) and it'd keep the theme of Conor going for 2 titles. I don't know that Aldo would be willing to step up and fight on short notice. According to Ariel Helwani on Twitter, Frankie Edgar is injured. Cowboy Cerrone and Anthony Pettis both say they're available. Nate Diaz could be an option too. The problem would be that maybe Cowboy and Diaz can't make the weight, which is a reason to go with Pettis.

Another option would be to postpone RDA/Conor, but I don't think they'll do that, as Conor is willing to fight anyone, and there's people out there willing to face him.

So, Diaz or Cowboy or Pettis?

Any of them if it's for the interim belt. Conor can't make 145 and lets be honest an interim belt on the line will keep a small percentage of the excitement we had for 196.

Pettis, no doubt. He destroyed Cerrone. Like Connor, hardly anyone he fights wants to stand with him. That's one of the best potential striking matches in any weight class.

Cerrone folds after the first good body shot...probably 1 minute into the fight. Diaz is better than Cerrone, but Pettis is the best choice.

I'd love to see Pettis but don't think the UFC wants to make that fight

I'd vote for Nate. Why isn't Alvarez an option though?

No interim belt needed. Save this fight until UFC 200.

No interim title, any of them is fine with me, although Pettis deserves it least.

If you are Dana White I think you have to go with Nate Diaz. The knuckleheads here just think of what they want and not what's good for the business.

Nate should be able to:
- Sell the fight
- Put on a good fight
- Not pose TOO much of a risk to Conor, which is what you want

What about Joe Duffy? I get that he is coming off a loss but a rematch can sell

I totally agree. I'd bet anything on Diaz...Fun fight. Little chance on conor losing.

They should absolutely fight for the interim title. Rda pulling out with less than 2 weeks to fight is very unprofessional.

Pettis would be the hardest Matchup for Conor i think by far.

I thought of that fight. But it's harder to justify that for an interim title. I like the Duffy fight other than that. Dunno if he's ready to step up though.

Poirier is another option but I'm not as interested in that rematch than I am the other possibilities.

my god stfu about interim belt. RDA just fought end of December! Cerrone or Diaz, i'd prefer Diaz. Question tho, on the chance Conor gets caught in a submission and loses, does he still get the title shot? Man this 2 class shit is already a mess.

hasn't Nate lost 3 of his last 5?

keep his ass in stockton.

Pettis on a full camp has a legit shot, so I'd rather make that fight later when it counts.

Cerrone has a glass body and would fold in seconds.

Diaz will at least make it fun to watch. If we have to do this, might as well make it a spectacle.
