Nate was on his way to taking Conor to school standing.

Nah, Conor was winning the standup pretty easily until he got caught for being lazy, Nate can talk all he wants about better boxing, no training partners....etc but he always gets hit lol. Diaz hung around and took the fight when he had an opening...but until he snuck in the left and rocked Conor he was absolutely losing.

People are getting way too stupid over the mans loss, he wasn't dominated, it was a great fight and he lost to a highly underrated Diaz brother, before the fight even happened I felt Nate Chin was going to be a big factor...and well it was as he was wobbled many times.

As a Diaz fan though...I love how Nate goes from hated to loved over night....sherdoggers are amusing.

Diaz did school Conor standing, why else would McGoat dive for a takedown against a legit BJJ black belt? lol. He begged to be submitted to avoid being knocked out.

Well he did get rocked lol, then lit up. Before that....wasn't working so well. He won...but based on the 30 seconds of standup he won...definitely didn't school Conor lol.

Great fight, Great win for Nate...wonder if they give him RDA...which would make sense to me.

Because of Nate, Conor did not look like he normally does striking. In the first 30 seconds it was evident. He was more wild, looping and overall reckless. Even his defense was lacking moreso than usual in this fight.

I believe there are a few reasons, the main one being he wasn't able to navigate the range. He was reaching for Nate a lot. Nothing he landed was solid or completely accurate like in his past fights. He was almost fighting panicked, even when he was winning

All credit to Nate

Nate took a beating 95% of fighters wouldn't have been able to withstand. Nate is also going to be punch drunk as fuck later in his life.

I disagree, Conor landed many solid shots and a few briefly wobbled Nate, but Nate took them, recovered and won. I do agree that Coor was spamming Left KO punches....that decreased his accuracy as they quickly became predictable....definitely wasn't what were used to from Conor.

I think he beats Aldo again, but vs Frankie idk...Frankie is fast and durable, I think either fight is justified to make...

That's a little off brochacho...Nate got his face mangled for most of the exchanges. He's simply able to absorb damage better than most fighters. Conor fought really dumb and this was bound to happen at some point. If these guys fight 10 times, Conor probably wins more than he loses but they will always be great fights and that's all I give a shit about.

The problem with this stuff for Nate is he got hit a lot...and that sort of stuff is going to catch up to him later in life. The Diaz brothers are awesome.

Neither man was dominating standing but one man was dominated on the ground. Guess who.

Conor's stand up is just fine, he just ran into a Diaz who is known for his durability. Let's not forget Nate lost the first round to Michael Johnson before turning it up in the second and third, where he still got tagged.

Nate and Nick have that u orthodox, high volume striking that is a pain in the ass to deal with. I did put money on Nate at the end and that was the main reason. Something was telling me this could happen and there was money to be made.

Diaz was just warming up in the first round. Diaz said he was even surprised Conor buckled so quickly.

i think its safe to say josh thomson is the greatest striker of all time

I knew it from the beginning. That's why I went all in on vcash for Nate. Couldn't understand why ppl picked Conor to win. Mendes already hit Conor multiple times before he gassed and it was just a matter of time when Nate turns the tides on Conor with his triathlon condition and good chin.

Conor was getting the better of Nate in the standup.

That sure as hell changed after he got rocked though.

100% agree. Conor was starting to get lit up. He did well in the first, but Diaz ate his shots and didn't lost a step. Conor was out boxed and submitted shortly after. PS, my money was on Conor -- I couldn't deny his momentum, but it was Holm who lost me the real $

connors ground game was already exposed (Mendes). the standing was what intrigued me a tad.

Diaz had no training camp.

His reflexes, timing, distance weren't sharp so he had to start out slow until he found his rhythm. Once he did, he outboxed the shit out of Conor.

He said himself that he did almost no sparring leading up to this fight because he was training for a triathlon.

Conor wasn't winning by much in the 1st round, either. It looked that way because Nate was busted up, but blood doesn't mean anything. Nate bleeds very easily and has a lot of scar tissue. He was never rocked or in trouble though.

Conor was rocked like 3 times before he went for the takedown in fear of getting KO'd.

I believe that full camp Nate finishes this fight in the first by TKO.

Diaz exposed his mediocre kicking game, he has a few decent straight kicks, but everyone knows that roundhouse kicks to the legs are the best way to give the Diaz brothers problems, he knew the blueprint, but he couldn't adapt, he's just a basic Irish plumber.

Looked like Conor laughed at Nate's punches a couple of times when Nate was just throwing that slappy volume on him. Next thing you know Nate puts something behind a straight right on the button and all the laughing was over. Don't think Conor's stand up was exposed. Just think he'd started believing that he could knock anyone out and wasn't prepared when that didn't happen.
