I just noticed the Diaz Bros are like the worse stylistic match ups for ko artists who fall in love with their power and don't know how to pace themselves.

e.g. Conor McGregor, young Robbie Lawler, Paul Daley, Gomi, and Mevlin Guillard, etc.

Conor Beats Thai fighters. Thai Fighters beat Nate. Nate Beats Conor.

Not totally accurate, but Nate has a problem with leg kicks.

Yep, I think McGregor would have beaten RDA, his style plays right into McGregors hands. RDA knows this which is why he is now saying Conor doesn't deserve a title shot.

Dumb, just dumb.

I agree. Dos Anjos gets caught and dropped.

Everyone talks about Nate being able to take shots because he's big, I think it's bs. Watch that fight again, Nate was Conors first opponent that rolled with the punches, to not absorb their full power. Nate won because he has some of the best boxing in mma.

Puncher's chance, that's all Conor would have vs RDA.

The more likely scenario is that RDA doesn't just walk into a left hook 10 seconds in, and ragdolls Conor to the ground as soon as they close the distance, and mauls him there.

the blueprint for beating a diaz is out there. im still kind of shocked conor got dragged into a headhunting war. i thought he was smarter than the your daleys, and gomis. even anderson effing silva of all people wouldn't do it.

conor caught him with some clean uppercuts and overhands. it takes a shin to the forehead to stop nate

So true. There are many ways to beat a Diaz - wrestling, Muay Thai, hit and run. Trying to run over them by keep coming forward attempting to KO them is NOT one of them. If Conor tries that same tactic it will be the same result again. These brothers have super granite chins and endless cardio.

They are a tough match up for anyone man. Even good wrestlers still have to fight smart to beat them

Joe Frazier said that stylistically a volume puncher should give a more technical puncher problems. The technical puncher will give power puncher problems, and power punchers wI'll give volume punchers problems.
Joe considered himself a hybrid technical/power puncher.

Perhaps Diaz(s) standup can be considered hybrid volume/technical punchers. Maybe that's why they can overwhelm power punchers on the feet.

That and they are VERY durable.

Yep. They're tough, have super great cardio, great chins / will, great boxing, great recovery, they're great at rolling with punches to mitigate their damage, and they have lethal BJJ. Almost all the skills one could ask for to nullify power strikers.

I thought Daley was still in it when the ref called it off. Even fight, maybe Daley was up actually before the "tko". Had the ref let it continued in the 2nd round who knows how it would have unfolded, as Daley did shut Nick's lights off (or at least spaghetti legged him) for a bit there, and could have done so in the 2nd or however long the fight may go further.

I think their boxing are good, but not THAT level good. They get hit plenty. It's their chins which keep them in the fight. If you include their chins as their styles, then yes, ok.
