Well, it's not just because she's black in the case of Lee, she is a lot more progressive compared to someone like Schiff, so her politics more closely align with the squad's.
But she is on the cusp of 80 and that should be a non-starter considering what we just had with Feinstein.

That's fair, but her message was completely based on gender and race. I agree backing an 80 old after Feinstein is absurd and tone deaf to the landscape.

She will still run as an incumbent. Therefore, statistically speaking, she has a better chance to win compared to those running against her.
Plus, her expertise is raising political funds.
Even in the short time before the election, she will most likely have a large campaign war chest
