Season finale not as good as I hoped. Harrison is fucking awful, I hope the next season would have only minimal scenes with him. And did they really use that lame-ass phone's battery dying trope? Cringe!

This was a top 3 Dexter season. Only season 1 and the Lithgow season might be better.

Haven't watched the prequel season.

Dexter calling Harrison from Angel's phone has to be an issue if they do a season 2. It seems like a pretty obvious thing for cops to look into.

I thought the finale was OK, but only if they do a season 2. Eventually they do need to end the show. New Blood was a way to end it with Dexter being killed by Harrison but they obviously didn't do that. We need a proper series finale for Dexter.

my thoughts:

original dexter:

-first four seasons were great
-at the time, season 5 was horrible compared the earlier 4
-6-8 were so awful that it made 5 look good in comparison


dexter new blood:

-don't really remember but that ending was whack, especially at the time


dexter original sin:

-cool to see michael c hall voice the younger actor. brought back a lot of good memories but still not a memorable show overall. pretty weak.


dexter ressurection:

-second best in the series
-brought back great memories of the original show (not counting 6-8 i'll pretend they never happened)
-still has the same flaws as the last parts of the OG series....weak writing, tons of plots holes, i mean what kind of idiots would show up to a serial killer gathering and expect to have it kept a secret? the second any of those buffoons slip up, they're all getting ratted out. dexter was in the midget's vault and had his shoe prints and DNA and fingerprints everywhere yet he thinks he's safe if he doesn't touch one of the objects? lazy writing to have him "clean up" the crime scene.

also possibly the dumbest plot device in the entire series.... he breaks into arcades, bowling alleys, and wig shops to set up his kill rooms?????? IN 2025, IN NEW YORK, ONE OF THE HIGHEST FOOT TRAFFIC AREAS IN THE WORLD WITH CAMERAS STUFFED EVERYWHERE??? GTFOH!

good memories of the past but man, they can do a lot better lol. are they bringing him back for another series? i don't see how they can recapture the best parts of the original series.

There's a book series. But Resurrection isn't anything that happened in the books.

After book 1 it is quite a bit different than the show.

I thought the last 2 episodes had a clear drop in writing quality, I was surprised to see them the highest rated on imdb. The way they handled both the Angel and Prater conclusion seemed very far fetched, some of the dialog was like written by AI, and Uma Thurman's acting somehow took a massive dive aswell.

Overall a good season though and a huge improvement over the last few of original Dexter. Looking forward to the next one.

My initial expectations for this show were sorta low. I loved this series and this season. I didn't think it worked, but it did. The finale seemed a little rushed, but overall, this was really good. I look forward to the future.

Enjoyed this season but the ending was just ok. I wish they hit us with something shocking or surprising at least.

You can guarantee that the NY Ripper will be played by next years’ guest star. Someone pretty famous I guess.
