Media Devin Clark releases statement on his loss and gruesome injury last weekend at UFC Vegas 37

What was his gruesome injury? Pics?
You might not want to see that, his front (lower) teeth detached including gums with them, like 4-5 front teeth all in one piece sort of folded down.

Regarding his injury, im guessing, dont remember the exact blow that caused it, i think it was a knee, he was caught with his mouth open, i have no idea if a better designed/bigger mouthpiece could had saved him from that.

My question to you, is why did he put it in there at all if he wasn’t making a point with it? Could’ve just said, “yeah, I got knocked down and rolled my ankle.”

You’re literally making an assumption of his intentions. Seems like you have trust issues.

At this point you’re just embarrassing yourself. You’re an all day sucker. Wanna buy a bridge?

Clark never gets much respect here, but he's a good guy and fighter, always see him as a top 15-25lhw just not good enough to be ranked but a good win for anyone coming up.

Oh I get it now. You’re a Viking. Yeah, warriors are very cynical. I understand why you think that way. What kind of Viking are you?

no way cutelaba did all that damage clean

This is the real danger of steroids

I felt really bad watching that fight. Dude was tough as nails. Never gave up. Respect.

He gets a gold star.

The Doctor, the corner and the DAD all get F’s and should have stopped that fight between rounds.

They all saw that shit and let him continue !

You're not wrong.

He may never be champ, but Clark is the kind of the fighter that need to keep on the roster. He's got a ton of heart and does everything in his power to not make it a boring fight.
He is a human punching bag who flinches and cringes with every strike. He has absolutely no chance of winning the championship ever. If every UFC light heavyweight died right now, the guys they bring in from DWCS, regional circuits, Russia, etc. would all beat him.
He is not a born fighter. He needs to quit before suffering more needless damage.

I really hope he can get it 100% fixed and, more than that, that the UFC fully paid for his dental / lower-mandible reconstruction and provided a top-notch specialist for that. UFC should fund it AND provide the best surgeon / specialists. If anyone knows how this stuff works as far as UFC and their fighters getting injured / treated (beyond the usual stitches etc) .....feel free to jump in.

As far as I know they basically take care of the initial “patch-up” job, even its a bad one where they fly you to a specialist or one to you.

The pain you feel 10-15yrs down the road when fightings done and the CTE Ion gave him will never be paid for.

Crazy he sustained most the injuries before the final round and kept fighting.

Man, what a fucking badass. I sure as shit wouldn't have gone back out with my teeth like that

Not an exciting story by any means but I was in Vegas last weekend and sat by one of his boys at some Mexican restaurant/bar for breakfast. His buddy was a cool dude, he told told me that clark was one of his best friends and he was there for the fight. I told him I’d put 100 on him for good karma. I ended up getting drunk gambling in the afternoon and forgot to do so.. good thing I did lmao.

This should've had pics in the first post, gang! Anyways...

Guys from DWCS like Rodriguez and menifield easily beat him eh.

Okay, you got me there. Though I would bet the farm on Menifield if they fought again.
I guess what I'm saying is he looks scared as hell and like every blow is extremely painful for him, basically that he's not a natural fighter.
Lay'n'pray to a decision win is his only path to victory.
He should go back to college, get his degree, and move on with his life. Whatever the UFC is paying him isn't going to cover the dental bills when his contract is up.
