I wanted to pick against BB, but Nascimento isn't close to the guys Derrick has been fighting. I'm guessing Lewis randomly catches him and gets another finish.
Yeah I pretty much always pick against Nascimento, even if Im usually wrong.

Getting lit up in the first minute by Chris Daukaus is not a good look, and split decisions over Ilir Latifi and Tanner Boser don't exactly inspire confidence.

If Lewis is anywhere near serious about this fight he will probably KO Nascimento quickly. But then again he also might fight like he did against Almeida.

This is a very good point, and now that you mention it I actually think you are right. Obviously the Apex saves a lot of time, effort and money in creating "UFC content"(i.e. live MMA fights. But it also significantly improves the perceived value of live regional UFC cards.

I'm gonna make a fearless prediction, and I will bump this thread when it happens:

The next time the UFC comes to Ottawa, I will pay an exorbitant amount for mediocre seats to watch a main event featuring at least one fighter from the Contender Series vs someone I would never expect to headline a card.

And it will be a sellout, without question.
That's insane lol. I'd do the same

The rest of the card has a few really interesting matchups, but so far not much name recognition. There are also only ten fights announced, so at least two or three more to add.

The announced fights so far, in order of interest to me, personally:

Main Event: Slava Borschev vs Chase Hooper

Co-Main: Carlos Ulberg vs Alonzo Menifield

Robelis Despaigne vs Waldo Cortes-Acosta
Terrence McKinney vs Esteban Ribovics
Tecia Torres vs Tabatha Ricci
Alex Caceres vs Sean Woodson
Derrick Lewis vs Rodrigo Nascimento
Charles Johnson vs Jake Hadley
Trey Waters vs Billy Goff
Jared Gooden vs Kevin Jousset

Bunch of amateurs on sherdog. That fight is for the casuals. US pros all know Ulberg vs Manifield is the real main event.

Better move this to the Apex, I'm not buying tickets for this shit. Last year we got Max vs Allen + a decent undercard. This year it's a much worse main event & also worse depth.
It's still a pretty solid card. They got the main event wrong tho.

I've been plannning to drive from KC to this card, but holy shit this card is trash esp in terms of importance.

Couple good prospects, sure, but a bunch of meh topped off by a terrible Main Event.

Saves me money I guess /shrug
