Derrick Lewis: mma is easier than boxing

Black beast is like the Diaz brothers when it comes to Media... What he says may just be chain yanking.

But he is clearly not working toward being ripped...

I don't think he ever sniffs the top of the class even in the weak division, mainly because he does not take his fitness and training as seriously as he could... I think he is super smart and very talented, but also just has some other interests that he elects to put before MMA

War Black Beast... He is fun

Black beast speaks the truth. Black guys in MMA are just inferior black atheletes who couldn't make it in boxing. Plus MMA is a sport for skinhead whiteguys.

If you're losing an MMA fight you have many avenues to explore to get back on track. If you're losing a boxing match there's little you can do to do much better. He's not wrong at all.

He's right because he's in the heavyweight division. If he was a 155er for example he would definitely have a different opinion

All I care about is who's the better fighter...not who's the better boxer.

We all know that answer.

Boxing sucks.

The way black beast fights and in regards to how shallow UFC HW division is, yeah MMA is the easiest of two for him.

mma is easier to go far in because its a younger sport

boxing is a very specialized and specific sport which is completely saturated with talent. it takes a much longer time and a much better skill set to really thrive in.

I guess...
He wouldn’t be a Top 10 HW boxer if he had devoted the same time to it.

But MMA takes a lot more well rounded skill, so I think there will come a time in the future when MMA is harder than boxing.

Nope, that's just Derricks lazy ass. Tell that to a pro like GSP or TJ Dillashaw.

He is right but not for the reasons he stated.

I'm sure I will get a ton of hate for this but the one thing that MMA doesn't really want to admit (because its dominated by wrestlers) is that effective wrestling is not really that hard to learn. Especially if you are already a world class athlete. Boxing/striking is much harder to learn and be effective with.
