I think Maia has a great chance in the first half of the fight, but he has been known to gas. If he struggles to impose his will on the fight he gets hurt by Wonderboy standing

I like Damian Maia but if he failed to do what Hendricks or Ellenberger failed to do and take him down then somebody better be at hand with a towell.

It seems to be an impossible task for anyone but elite fighters (Marquardt didn't stuff Maia's TDs because he caught him in those early seconds when Maia is finding the right distance for the shot). Is Thompson an elite fighter? Probably as he beat Hendricks who absolutely IS an elite fighter. I guess the answer will be clear after Macdonald fight. The sight of Matt Brown, a brawler, wrestlefucking him is still fresh in my memory.

Maia has a different aproch to Tds, he has that sick single but what's more important is hat one he gets a hold of you, he doesn't let go, Hendricks took wonder boy down he got up and he didn't even try to stay glue to him, he thought he could strike with him... Maia isn't going to be fucking around on the outside, both jake and Hendricks like to stand and bang, Damian does not

I would say go watch the Rory Macdonald fight. Thompson could very well do the same thing. Hard to tell.
