Since the comments on the front page article by Savage are currently closed, I thought I'd start a poll to see what my Sherbros think about the flyweight fiasco. For those who didn't read the article, it seems like the UFC wants DJ's next fight to be against the winner of a TUF show coached by two guys he just murked, Joe B and Cejudo. I'd rather see DJ fight Dominick Cruz. There's no one left at flyweight.

What say you?

P.S. If any mods are reading this, please consider inserting a poll in this thread for me. Thanks!

DJ vs Joe B and Cejudo at the same time. Joe B can only strike and Cejudo can only grapple.

Tbh I'm fine with whatever they do as long as they don't fold the division.

What? All the latest news is DJ fighting the winner of TUF. The UFC should close down the 125 division. Both the 125/135 are too thin. Combine them. DJ is over 140 on fight night.

well hopefully the addition of the ultimate fighter is going to breathe live into the division, but still, johnson has looked pretty unstoppable. Besides someone coming of of TUF the only challenge i see is if he moves to 135 or if 125 is merged into 135.

Contrary to popular belief, there are still several fights for MM at flyweight, its just none of them are very interesting...

Jussier Formiga is the obvious next opponent

Sergio Pettis, Wilson Reis, Dustin Ortiz, Scoggins etc. could all be fights for MM.

I think after he breaks Silva's record he should move up, and fight a top BW, maybe even Cruz, but I don't see this as that much of a fiasco...

Ronda had the same problem and then suddenly got dethroned and the womens division is suddenly interesting again, we were also having the same prob with GSP, and Anderson before Chael.. so

Jon Jones is pretty much in the same boat if he beats Rumble/Texeira again... so I don't think its as bad as people say personally

Why? The 125 is the weakest division in MMA with DJ cleaning it out. Is anybody really wanting to Mouse vs Benvediez 3? Anybody going to pay for that?
People would pay to see Mouse vs Faber or Mouse vs Bararo

Im fine with anyone they throw at him as long as it does not headline a ppv event

The TUF tournament is well timed...
- Acts as a buffer while Smolka, Nguyen, Scoggins, Pettis, Formiga etc. are building win streaks.
- Adds a new wrinkle to the inevitable Benavidez 3 fight.
- Adds 16 additional fighters to the roster.

I think it's a positive.

No he's not. He lost his last fight. There's plenty of guys in front of him.

it was a split decision loss against the number #1 contender.. he had 3 wins before that, if he gets a bounce back win, or even just fights MM now, I don't see a real problem with that, he arguably won, and would have gotten the next shot if he had.

Im guessing they dont want to risk the "two division champ" thing on MM, it is the fight to make if Cruz beats Faber tho, having said that, there isnt much reason to not do 125 vs 135 superfight for the 135 belt with Faber too.

Jussier Formiga is coming off a loss to Cejudo in his last (however close) and has lost to Benavidez and Dodson..
I'd say MM has cleared out the top tier of his division, and all that's left are the up n coming fighters or the leftovers.

I agree that dominant champions tend to make their divisions look dull in comparison, though. Which is why I'm itching to see Johnson rematch the last guy to beat him, Cruz.

Barao is way to big, Faber should drop his muscle and go to 125 if he loses to Cruz again

From what MM said it is not going to be a low level TUF as some are, its going to be getting the best of the Flyweights from around the world and give them the end goal of being FW champion.

I think its a great idea, imagine the speed.
