I (185cm.) was talking with my sparring partner (who's ~190cm) and we stumbled upon this stupid, moronic discussion about who would win in if DJ and a professional basketball player fought.

I think that DJ doesn't have a change against NBA super athletes. Their are just too damn long, fast, atheletic. Reach, height deference would be such a huge factors.
Those plus 5 cm that friend has gives me a lot of trouble. Nevertheless, I am not DJ - one of the greats.

On other hand my sparring partner had different opinion. He's convinced DJ would take lengther opponent down with a single and then climb and take his back and finish with RNC.
That's plausible outcome.

What's your opinion?

(I know it's sh*t show thread)

MM would get completely crushed. Size matters, regardless of what she told you

Shit thread. Lebron by whatever he wants in the first.

What does the height of you and your sparring partner have to do with this?

Didn't Oscar De La Hoya box Shaquille once? I think he won, Oscar, but did have some trouble fighting the much bigger guy. I know it was only for show, and I'm not sure what would have went down if they were actually getting at it ... but still ...

I'm high as fuck, as I hope ts was too when he was having the conversation and made this thread

Because I don't know the actual reach difference. He has longer reach, I just bluntly assume that reach and height has a correlation.

You expect me to believe you spar when you are discussing a fight between somebody 6'5'' or taller vs somebody under 5' 6''. ummmm
Bahahahahaha

I'm not convinced, size should matter but I've seeing a fair few NBA players throw punches and they were terrible girly air shots.

I legit think MM is one of the few turbomanlets who does get it done via leg rape. Toe hold, leg bar, armbar etc.

But other turbomanlets like TJ, Cody, Cruz, McGregor would absolutely be buttraped.

If you say so - don't do sparring at all. I don't really care.

DJ is called GOAT by numerous people, so best of the best should give competitive fight to almost everybody, right?

if it's actual MMA rules I think some smaller fighters could just kick the legs out from under a NBA player, a few calf kicks or oblique kicks to the kneecap and they'd be on the ground, and then just get them in a kneebar or toehold which an untrained person doesn't know how to defend.

\thread, check on Minowa in PRIDE:

With or without training? How long does the nba guy have to prepare? 1 month? 5years?

This will come down to if the NBA player is a natural fighter or not. If they have anywhere near average or above fighting ability for an untrained fighter, then they will beat MM. MM is a great fighter for his size, but realize less then 3% of the population are his possible opponents in his weight class. The 10th best fighter in his weightclass will be on par skill-wise with someone around the 200th best LHW.

Leg lock, toe hold, any sub he wants. End of NBA career
