Demetrious Johnson vs. Henry Cejudo in talks for UFC 225

if the Henry McCejudo that showed up against reis comes in like that again this'll be really interesting.

i know MM ran through him but i would've liked to see how that fight played out if the body shot didnt land perfectly, and cejudo is better now.

you guys are bitching but this is a good fight, we already saw that henry can nullify MM's wrestling and even take him down.

The UFC wanted TJ to fight Cody for the 135 title when Holloway pulled out to save the card.

When TJ turned down the fight (doesn't matter the reason even though I felt he had a legit one) the UFC iced the idea for a TJ vs MM super fight to spite TJ.
How the fuck do people not know this ?.
The worst of the worst "fans" around here.

Nobody cares. Hey, WME, good luck selling a low-selling champion rematching a guy who has openly admitted in the recent past that he has little chances of ever beating MM, coz he's that good.
The Whittaker vs Yoel first fight did 100k. Throw in DJ and now the rematch can do 105k

No he’s not, TJ was going to fight at 125. Jose Aldo didn’t ask for an extra $1 million when Frankie Edgar went down to fight him for the belt.

Never in the history of mma, before this situation, have a heard of someone demanding substantial amounts of extra money to fight someone who is coming down to their weight class from one weight class above (or any weight class above).

So Conor, who had a full camp, hand-picked the bigger man that was on vacation and got his MILLIONS. That fight wasn't for a belt or didn't go for anything. Stood for nothing but dollars. Now you have a dominant champ in MM asking for his worth and he's getting the cold-shoulder from the company and has so many others eating it up like this.

I used to think of Bones as such a punk for ducking out of the first scheduled fight with The Shael because I ate up the Dana BS. After hearing how they were wanting to short-change Jones and cut the cost since the same stakes weren't up for grabs, I understood. Same thing seems to be happening here. I completely see MM's side when he said, "If they're wanting to call this a super fight, they should pay me like it's a super fight." He's fighting the guy in the higher weight class.

Except that "his money" is worth very little, since he constantly breaks records for low numbers. What UFC fighters are making $2 million in a fight ? Probably only Conor/GSP. Stipe only made $600 k against Ngannou despite it being heavily marketed

MM was on Ariel this week saying he wants the TJ fight and is recovering from a shoulder injury. He said that shoulder injury would barely allow him to make 226 vs TJ

This is number one bullshit...

As if this Chicago card couldn't be more sad.

I understand not giving Chicago the NYC or LA(214) treatment, but you would think WME would at least want to give Chicago fans the same type of card a Brooklyn, Dallas, or Detroit(shthole) got.

TJ vs Cruz 2 or Garbrandt 2 would be worlds better as a co-main
They could be saving TJ/Cody 2 for UFC 226 now that it looks like TJ/DJ isn't happening.

Great. Another title defence. Another all time low PPV. Another win that no one will remember in 20 years.

Let's not pretend that MMA is some bastion of dignity and respect, especially as it pertains to looking back at fighters.

Mighty Mouse will get remembered like every other MMA fighter: Coward, chicken shit, ducker, Pussy etc........ And that's if he goes out on a Win.
If he goes out on a loss, there are a whole host of bizarre adjectives that will be foisted upon him i'm sure: past his prime, washed up, a bum, never any good, trash etc...... you get the idea.

MMA is sport's lowest common denominator and it's sad when we try and pretend it's something more than sanctioned fist fighting

You don't follow MMA or headlines ?.
Where is your source that he asked for too much money ?.
so why you're blaming dana then? last year or was it on 2016 he was asking a million to fight cruz. imagine an even dangerous fighter? especially now that he "broke" anderson's record

you really don't understand shit. mcgregor is a HUGE draw. MM is nobody compared to him in this regard

Dana put the brakes on this fight after TJ was unwilling and unable to step in on short notice to fight Cody at UFC 222.
Dana is a petty man.

Whitaker is going to suffer poor PPV buys because of MM on the card.

If DJ wants more money in general that’s fine, that’s between him and WME-IMG and has nothing to do with the fans. What I’m disputing is the absurd notion that he should get more money because someone is coming down to his weight class. No one is asking DJ to do anything that he is not contractually obligated to do, which is fight opponents at 125lbs.

Why are DJ fans acting like they are his manager instead of fight fans? Do you guys really care more about DJ’s finances than the sport you love to watch?
