Dem "Scam Likely" calls..

I haven't answered calls from people other than family in years, except for the previously arranged ones or from people I'm in immediate conversation started through other means.

I don't think I ever missed anything important at all doing that.

Whenever I get these, I dont answer and typically block them.

Its "likely" some bullshit, meaning uncertain.

Anyone blocked one only to realize later it was a call you needed?

I regularly mess around with the Pig Butchering scams. Where you’ll get a random text saying something like “just got done golfing and then we’re headed to a show… interested in coming along?”.

Those are fun to pull around for awhile. Because the pig butchering scams screw people out of a lot of money.

I tried fucking around with a caller with these but he sniffed it out right away and started calling my mom a whore and wishing death to my family.
The best part was how I ended it. I was asking then the name of their company, as why I couldn’t find their website.
They had called me on my work phone which is completely detached from my personal life.

So I said, “You know what’s interesting is that the number you called is actually the phone number for (my place of work that I’m not telling any of you).
They hung up so fast.

If they don't leave me a message, I block it <Fedor23>

Same. Ignore and immediate block.

anyone who is calling about anything important will leave a message if their call is unanswered.

havent answered an unrecognized number unless i was expecting a call for more than a decade.

Even though I only made this thread hours ago, "Scam Likely" is the same as cleaners you see that say "Kill 99.99% germs."

A loophole in case they werent right.

When Amazon calls me, it sometime comes up as this.

Apparently, about a trillion dollars gets scammed annually across the globe. That would put "scamming" into the Top 10 of most lucrative industries in the world.

<36>

That's reported. Imagine those too embarrassed to bring it up.

I have fun with them now. I like the "Hi, Grandpa" ones, where they pretend to be you grandson who needs bail money. I now just pretend to be an old confused man, and tell them stories that don't go anywhere until they hang up.

As to your question, I never block, but I have fucked up once. My cable company called one day, and before they could get a word in past identifying who they were, I said "Yeah, yeah, fuck off, scammer!" and hung up. They immediately called back and assured me they weren't a scammer, and were just offering me a deal. Whoops.

I have some kind of thing turned on that blocks numbers from people who aren't in my contacts.

But if you're job-hunting you can't do that. Or if you work in a job where clients need to call you. Then it really sucks because you just have to live with the scam calls.
