Delphi Murders - anyone following this case?

Only heard about this when it was an episode on Mr Ballen.

Same here. It's horrifying. I felt sad for the poor girls. I can't imagine what the families have gone through. I'd be beating myself up over it if it were my kid or my sister.

My coworker has been talking about this story for the last 7-10 days. Guess he's sort of invested since his daughter lives in the area. I know it as the "down the hill" case. Definitely seems like it was a two man job as the girls could have just taken off and ran in the woods. Sure they would have risked getting shot but chances are the killer wouldn't have just started firing away like Yosemite Sam. Guys probably took them to a more remote area prior to shooting them.
Last images from the girls phone shows them walking on a train bridge, with the dude walking towards them... they might not have had anywhere to go

He didn't shoot them. It was much more gruesome than that.

What did he do, do you know?

I'll spoiler since it's pretty rough. I've heard this from a couple reliable sources, but I don't know if the exact details are true.

As I said earlier, he supposedly had both girls ziptied with duct tape over their eyes. He made the one watch the other get killed and it sounds like he used sharp sticks. Multiple puncture wounds and just a completely horrible death. The other one was also gruesome, but he must have used an actual knife as he nearly decapitated her. The bodies were then "staged". Complete sick fuck, and he lived a normal life working at CVS for 5 years after doing that.

Fuck.

Definitely premeditated, you don't just find 'weapons' like that conveniently located, sharp enough to kill. Plus, the other items.

Also, I would guarantee he's done something similar since, in those 5yrs.

What about the "down the hill" recording? If there weren't multiple guys with guns I doubt an out of shape singular guy wielded a gun would have given chase down a hill if he wasn't going to fire. What came first the images or the "down the hill" recording?

Definitely bizarre how people like this are wired. Apparently while working at CVS he printed off flyers for the family free of charge because he was such a “nice guy”.

There’s a longer extended recording where he allegedly says “Dude…down the hill” giving credence to there being a male accomplice. But he could have just been talking to the girls.

EDIT: That’s what I had read but I just listened for myself and I’m definitely hearing “Guys…down the hill”

I work in Bloomington, so its a very popular topic amongst my coworkers. Reminds me of the Katie Coleman homicide.

Any idea what souvenir he took?

Yes, been following this for a lot of years. I was really worried this wouldn't be solved until recently when the subjects in the second pic from the OP (father and son) came up and the son's interrogation transcript was leaked. He had a fake snapchat account used to get pictures of and meet little girls. He told a different person over snapchat he was supposed to meet up with Abby & Libby the day of the murders. I really thought Bridge Guy was going to turn out to be the Dad.

Richard Allen being arrested for 2 counts of murder. I don't think law enforcement has confirmed if they think Richard Allen was the guy on the bridge, which makes me believe the Klines could still be involved. You can be charged with murder for being an accesory, even if you didn't physically kill anyone. Cops are keeping the evidence air tight until this goes to trial. No matter what, that's got to be a relief for the family. 5 years, man. I can't imagine.

I really don't know. I haven't investigated much, just what I see on the local news in the mornings. And it's basically local for me as I'm in Southern Indiana.

The probable cause affidavit is sealed, however, it is known that the murders were very brutal. One girl had to watch the other be killed first.
Which one is the dad?

I listened to the podcast series that was made about the case a while ago. They released an update episode when the arrest was made but it was was quite light on details.

Real spooky and disturbing case, with the whole Snapchat thing, and having audio of who they thought was the killer.

Those kids died horribly. If he did it, they best put him under the jail.

I believe clothes, potentially underwear.
That's what I figured. Fucking perv. I like how he's been moved like twice and even the judge had to recuse himself from the case due to the amount of heat from the public. The people want blood with this one.

I'd heard the scene was so brutal they didn't release details to spare the family and the family wants to keep the details sealed throughout.

I'm 99% sure they are involved somehow. There is no way that it's just a coincidence that Richard Allen is from the same area originally and that Kegan Kline was catfishing the girls. On top of that, they did extensive searching of the Wabash River in the Peru area as well as digging up the fire pit of the Kegan's grandparents. All of the timing was shortly before the arrest, so it has to be tied together.
