Defense Soap.. worth it?

I've used it and it works great.

I had a little problem with ring worm at a school I trained at, started using it and no more ring.

Works great man.

The loofa is good because it creates lather. Lather is important because it brings the active ingredient to the skin then carries dirt away when rinsed. A good wash cloth works just as well. The only issue with loofa is scrubbing to hard. You have to be careful not to damage the skin.

Been trying to follow all the info In this thread. Been having reoccurring staph (sensitive) strain. I keep getting what looks like infected pimples. I use tea tree oil and they refrain from spreading. Trying to dodge this altogether. Taking tumeric, garlic, fish oil for my immune system. Using defense soap after every training session, doing a decolonization with hibacleanse and a nasal antibiotic monthly. After giving you a little history I have three questions.

Can using defense soap regularly create a resistance to strains of bacteria?
Does the tea tree oil affect testosterone?
Could the issue be my gear? I'm very careful with not contaminating my bag after class. It's actually a hemp bag from Datsusara. Not sure why I get it if I clean my gi every time, dry on high heat, wear it for class, then use defense soap... Only thought is gear isn't being cleansed
 
I emailed Guy a while back based on this thread, got the free samples and liked them a lot.

Can using defense soap regularly create a resistance to strains of bacteria? Defense is actually a gentle soap. Our ingredients will kill invading microbes as well as some of your normal skin flora but will not completely wipe your flora out allowing it to repopulate sooner. It is this flora that actually protects you from infection. I have used nothing but Defense Soap for 9 years and I am on the mat daily. My skin is healthier then it has ever been.

Does the tea tree oil affect testosterone? TTO can affect estrogen levels in young boys only if it is ingested. We suggest not eating our soap. TTO is not a carrier oil meaning that it will not get pass the surface of the skin.

Could the issue be my gear? Your gear most definitely can be an issue. In order to pin point where you infection is coming from I would need to speak with you. Please feel free to call 866-544-1689. Saw this thread pop up and wanted to follow up on my experience with the free sample.

I sent an email requesting the sample and within two hours, I received not just a confirmation email, but an email that the sample had shipped. Pretty quick.

Got the sample a couple days later, a 2 oz bottle of defense shower gel. I like it. Smells nice but not too overpowering. Some health clubs I've been to go way overboard with the tea tree oil in the sauna and what not. This is not irritating at all to me, and my skin is fairly sensitive.

As to whether it fends off ringworm, not sure, but I'll follow up if have more to say on that. Seems like a good company that I'd like to support though. Made in USA if that is important to you.

Anything antibacterial will do the trick. I use Dial body wash, works great.

I'm sorry but this is false. Antibacterial soaps will mess with your skin flora and allow nasties to flourish.
 
I use it after rolling, seems to work. The gel version lathered up goes a long way.
 
Finished my free bar of defense soap a little while ago (Thanks again Guy!) and it seemed like a good product. I am a high school wrestling coach, so I would use defense soap as an everyday soap because I was on the mats so much. Didn't have any problems. Pondering on whether or not to buy a couple bars.
 
There is probably stuff thats cheaper and works just as well but it's a great product
