Deacon Frost (Blade) vs Top Dollar (The Crow)

Pffft those elders were cans. Been a long time since I watched the movie but I don't remember them even putting up a fight.

Top Dollah all day

"For a ghost you bleed just fine."

Udo Kier was one of those elders wasn't he? Like Michael Wincott, that's a dude who very often is cast as a creepy/heel character.

His role/scene in Ace Venture was funny shit though.

As a main antagonist each fit their role perfectly in different ways. It is close however I prefer Blade's antagonist- Frost more. He was interesting enough it would have even worked to have him return in a sequel. There is no wrong answer to this question though, it is a selection of taste.

IMO Top Dollar's thugs were better than Frost's thugs. Besides Frost and Quinn I found the rest of the posse pretty forgettable. I understood the whole vampire round-table/political angle and why it existed, however it seemed so arbitrary given Frost's requests.

Always been a Dorf fan. Always loved that character in Blade. Both are pretty awesome though.

Same here. Quinn, that was Donal Logue's character, right? That dude was pretty awesome, but doesn't trump Dollar's whole crew. In fact, he'd fit right in with Dollar's crew...holy crap that would've been comedy gold!

And I only recently realized T-Bird was Sully in Commando (the lil dude Ahnold dropped off the cliff)

that's a pretty impressive change

And wow, just now found out Donal Logue was Jimmy The Cabbie on those annoying mtv commercials in the 90's

Top Dollar was an all around excellent villain and the acting was top notch.

Did anybody know Morgan Freeman was originally cast as Blade? The director didn't like his take on the character

went with frost, i remember more about blade than i do the crow.

I'm gonna have to take the vampire.

Ad motherfucking lib

lmao! Dude is awesome though. The way he delivered his lines as T-Bird was memorable.

"Here's to devils night. My new favorite holiday." * puts cigar out on his tongue

"Which one of you MOTOR CITY MOTHERFUCKERS wants to bet me THIS one ISN'T? HEY!!! FIRE IT UP! FIRE IT UP!"

"Abashed the devil stood as he felt how awful goodness is."

"You ain't you man you can't be you. We put you through the window. This is the really real world there ain't no comin back. There ain't no comin back."

He just has a really interesting, unique way of delivering his lines. I dig it.

It's not a fight though. More of a character comparison. I didn't explain that well in the OP

I see. Then still Frost. I love both movies. But Blade is just on another level for me. And Deacon Frost was a very big part of what made that film so good. His chemistry with Snipes was just perfect.

Yeah I think they should've brought Frost back in one of the sequels. He's a complex bad guy, and interesting, and FAR better than any of the other Blade villains. If in Blade Trinity, they'd replaced that dracula fucktart with Deacon Frost, that movie might've been good. Imagine Frost interacting with Ryan Reynolds and Jessica Biel. Woulda been hilarious.

As for the movies, love Blade but to me The Crow is on another level. It's one of my tip-top all-time favorites. It was groundbreaking in more ways than one.

Fully agree on the Frost part. He could have made the third movie what it should have been.

I really love the Crow too. It's one of a kind, despite all the sequels. And I also really loved the TV-show. Have it all on DVD.

But I just have a weak spot for vampires, esp when they're done right. And Blade just nails it.

After giving this more thought I believe The Crow is technically a better movie than Blade. But I still enjoy Frost a little more than Top Dollar as an antagonist.

Our friend T-bird won't be joining us this evening on account of a slight case of death.
