Recency bias aside, Sean's last performance was fine, and Chimaev's was stellar. DDP has already beaten Sean, and Sean has done very little to establish himself as THE guy to fight for the belt next.

Damn, I want this to be a joke but it feels like such a true statement. I thought Khamzat was Muslim so I thought he going to observing Ramadan. I am probably wrong but I still don't think February happens. I think April or May is a better bet knowing Khamzat's history.

Side note: I do see a coming problem at Middleweight though because I can't see Strickland or Izzy taking a fight in the interim, Whittaker may be out an extended amount of time and Vettori has not fought in over a year so you have potentially 4 rank squatters in the top 10. So if Khamzat pulls out is the assumption that Strickland is the backup fighter?

He's not been fighting because he's been sick. It's not like he's been at home rolling his thumbs... And it seems like he has a much smarter training protocol nowadays.

Let it be known, DDP likes February because he's had time to heal and for Khamzat it's a quick turnaround for another five round fight camp.

Remember, DDP didn't want the Adesanya fight because it was too short notice for him, so Strickland took it.

Wrong. Next year Ramadan is February 28 to March 30. Ramadan is based on a lunar calendar so the dates will slide around from year to year relative to our western calendar.
