Media DDP's coach: "That guy is one dimensional, have you seen his standup? I wouldn't even give him a pro license for his sh*t standup"

DDP has outstruck much better strikers than Khamzat though DDP's coach is not coming off well here.

If Khamzat is going to win it will be by taking DDP down, he would most likely get pieced up by DDP in a five round fight on the feet.

Most definitely not the most technical striker but Khazmat does a better job at putting it all together as well as having phenomenal grappling to fill the skill gap.

DDP has more striking experience but does not have more grappling experience than Khazmat.

Just another example as to why I love MMA. So many facets to the game but ultimately it’s about who’s style is stronger and overall more effective.

WELL said coach, because DDP's stand up is elite level instead LMAO

He's not wrong but it's not the stand up DDP has to worry about. It's the opening storm with the grappling, if he passes that test Khamzat is up a creek.

Ditto

Borz non-technical power striking vs iron chin DDP with his erratic, sloppy, power striking.

DDP strength, power and size vs Borz grappling technique & strength.

Borz all out blitz & lack of cardio vs DDP heart & deceptive stamina

Khamzat may not be the most technical on the feet, but there’s no doubt he can crack. Can’t wait for this fight

Usman lost back to back fights, had no camp, got off the couch and debuted his first ever fight at 185lbs, one weeks notice traveling across the world.

Khamzat couldn't do a thing to him on the feet, and eeked out a majority decision.

I'm not even going to rehash a hilariously undersized Burns fight.

IMO against ranked opponents, Khamzat has had multiple opportunities to look good in striking and simply has not. Everyone should be terrified of his first round grappling, because its a serious danger.

In a MMA kickboxing fight Dricus beats him 7/10 times.

That’s all true, but he does seem to hit pretty hard occasionally is all I’m saying

A grade 3 ligament tear in his dominant hand probably didn't help him in those striking exchanges.

"Hilariously undersized" - funny, I've never heard that narrative for Burns when he has been up against Usman, Wonderboy, Magny, Masvidal, Jdm, etc.

Shorter and shorter reach, sure.
But it's weight classes, not height classes, and Burns is around 190 lbs at fight night and Khamzat was 189 lbs.

Yes. Chimaev is odd. Instead of looking just you know, steadily good or solid in all his fights, he's looked either absolutely lethal/spectacular (Li, Holland, Whittaker) or really quite underwhelming (Burns, Usman).

And the fighters he looked underwhelming against were undersized, but solid, skilled, well rounded.

That was part of the narrative in all those fights. Him being a former LW used to be bandied around a lot.

lol, same people here shitting on Costa, because he didn’t finish Rockhold, but guess what he broke his hand and needed surgery for it. Now a ligament tear is a valid excuse for shitty striking?

Burn being bigger fight night 😂
I guess we have heard it all or can we expect better excuses next week?

I didn't know that about Costa, obviously it's a valid excuse since it's not helpful to strike with only one healthy hand.

Burns being of a similar weight aa Khamzat on fight night is pretty much proven beyond all reasonable doubt.

1. Burns said himself he was around 188-190 lbs in his daily life at LW. That he fought at 180-182 lbs, at LW.

2. He weighed in 203.2 lbs in a grappling match, a year before fighting Khamzat, 3 months before fighting at WW.

3. He made comments about Conor moving to WW, warning him that "we're all lean and mean at around 190 lbs, he's too small".
That was about 11 months after fighting Khamzat.

Khamzat rehydrated 9kgs (19.8 lbs) for his WW-fight, which would put him at around 190.8 lbs on fight night.

You're welcome!
