Of COURSE he would have.

Whoever won that fight was getting the brockroidz payday next.

exactly
stipe and any other heavyweight would have jumped on the pay day, also
even jones was wanting it

Why wouldn’t he have?

I mean, everybody knows the UFC is a joke anyway. It’s all entertainment at this point. Legitimate fights between top guys just don’t bring in the cash like circus fights do.

Is there any reason to believe stipe wouldn’t have?

If Stipe won DC wouldn't be asking for a rematch. DC sounds like a retard.

Is that the point though? DC is pulling a woodley, wins the belt and immediately demands money fights. Stipe was the longest-reigning champion in heavyweight history who isnt even getting a rematch.

My heart is in the same place as yours, but at the end of the day it's a business, and they're going to make the fights that generate the most revenue, just as fighters who have the choice are going to take the most profitable opponents they can.

I wish ability mattered more, and title shots had to be earned, but this company just sold for four billion dollars, and they're going to try and get that back as quickly as possible. What's more, fighters are in this to make money, not prove anything. They dance the happy dance when they get an easy opponent tied to a good payday. They just don't say it.

Of course Stipe would have! Because he would have taken any fight that the UFC lined him up with.

What he wouldn't have done is go on social media and squabble with a number of hopeful future opponents, passing judgement on whether he'd deign to consider them.

It would have made infinite more sense to Stipe to take the fight seeing he would have been the longest reigning HW champ of all time, and cleaned out the division.

However it still would be every bit as much of a shame and an embarrassment.

DC is trying to mindfuck himself in every possible way that he's doing nothing wrong...He's going to have to come to grips that this is going to be part of hi legacy.

If DC was in Stipe's position he would have took an easy Shogun like fight instead of taking the challenge to begin with.

Yeah, because everyone knows Stipe HATES a big payday.

It's as if DC has a condition where he can't help but sound like a jackass every time he opens his mouth.

This guy dc is NO WHERE NEAR the GOAT of anything and in terms of his MMA career, he's going out like a lamb

Calling himself a GOAT? Fuck out of here, you've done nothing of note except beat Stipe.

Never even beat a champion at 205, real "champ champ" huh

You know what?

The blame actually goes to the fans. Most of them don’t even care about seeing the top guys fight each other. If that’s what fans paid for, that’s what we’d see. The truth is, people want to see freakshow, WWE style fights, with cheesy drama as stprylines. It sucks for hardcore fans though.

But drama and personalities sell fights. Imagine how much bigger a fight between Conor and Khabib would be if it came out that Khabib was secretly porking Dee Devlin. It would become bigger than MayMac.

He wouldnt have called Brock into the octagon and done a cringe promo though.
