DC vs Stipe is the fight to make

Wouldn’t mind that at all. Just don’t see it happening.

A shame Gus is on the shelf. Hope he’s back soon. Gus DC 2 is a fight I really want to see. I believe Gus can do it. That’s the only fight left for DC at LHW.

Stipe vs. Cain would be amazing. But it’s Cain. I’m not gonna get too excited about it.
 
Goddamnit, this is what I said when Cain lost to Werdum. DC stepped down to LHW because Cain owned the title until then. With Cain and John Jones out, what other fight makes sense for either fighter?
 
Cormier won't take the fight

Steve Michael would knock DC the fuck out. DC kills himself to make LHW for a reason.
 
DC should retire. He has nothing left to prove. He's already beat anybody worth beating. The only matchups available right now are recycled ones, and fights he already won. I'm sure he'd love another crack at Jones if he gets the opportunity soon enough, but that's not likely. I say go out on a win. There's just nobody that stands out at lhw right now enough for him to fight.
 
UFC is probably sending boxes of Popeyes to DC to try to win him over. Even if that doesn't win him over he'll be too fat to make LHW without any towel tricks so he'll be forced to take the fight.

He knows better than anyone else that Cain has no relevance at HW anymore.

As for being fast, yeah he was faster than Bigfoot, Mir, Barnett, and Nelson. That means absolutely nothing compared to the truly elite of the division, the guys who've been beating the piss out of those four for a long time now. Miocic is big, fast, can wrestle, has great boxing, and a more than decent gas tank. DC has a good chin when he's getting hit by LHWs but he never felt true HW power, the difference between someone like Fabio Maldonado eating shots from one of the harder hitters in the division and being stopped after two rounds only by the ref's discretion and being put down like a sick dog in half a minute at HW. Plain and simple, he don't want none and has a convenient excuse for it.
 
Yep would cement his GOAT legacy and wash away Jones' losses once and for all if he could win a HW title - something Jones could not do. Huge risk though. I think Stipe would be heavily favored.
 
He should and I love the sound of that fight. DC has no interesting fights left at LHW. Nobody can beat him, and Stipe has beat all the HWs that matter. The only thing standing in the way is Cain. DC respects him too much to try for the title. Would love that fight.
 
DC has an ego. He would rather stay king at LHW for the next couple years (most pathetic top 10 in LHW history) keep his undefeated HW streak alive and seamlessly transition to commentary when it's time to hang em up with his only loss coming from a proven cheater and his buddy Cain to shield him from criticism. It's really the perfect scenario unless Stipe loses and DC really loves a match up then it's sorry Cain I'm moving up to catch a HW title then vacate back to LHW. I don't blame him at all. But if he was able to win the HW strap he would be GOAT status so he needs to really think about it. I want to see him fight Stipe though I'm with TS. Too much of a risk to his legacy. Has Nothing to do with Cain.
 
You got to be fucking kidding! DC just said no to that fight. Respect for Cain? Bullshit! Cain has nothing to do with it. If he really wanted to, DC could fight Stipe for the title and if he won, vacate it. He would be only the second man in UFC to win both LH and HW Titles. He knows that he is too old now to fight at HW and that Stipe would KTFO him. That's why he declined Dana's offer. Not only does Stipe hit harder at HW but his wrestling is just as good as JBJ's and Cormier is well aware of that.
 
I'm more interested in Champions staying in their weight class and fighting the contenders. Not trying to be a dick. I Just would much rather have that

what are you talking about? heard of a guy called Josh Barnett? A legend who was probably rated top 5 when DC went 5 rounds standing up trading punches with him and took everything he had and dominated him.

You do realise DC has had almost as many fights at hw as Cain? Lol

Based on what? And if you knew anyhting you would know that he moved to LHW because Cain was the HW champ... Did you forget that DC went 13-0 at HW without losing a round. DC vs Stipe would be a very competitive fight.

Barnett is slow, a wrestler but nowhere near as good as DC, and has very little knockout resume for a HW. He was tailor made for someone like DC. Comparing him to current Stipe Miocic is a fucking joke.

Cain hasn't been relevant in the world title picture for two years and the idea that he is just waiting that out is a convenient excuse like it always was. He got in his few good, safe wins and killed himself en route to LHW to enact his ego fantasy with Jones.

DC NEVER faced anyone like Stipe. Every single HW he faced was a favorable stylistic match up. They were all slow, plodding guys with little to no stand up threat because they were grapplers by trade and had zero or one dimensional striking and couldn't compete with an olympic level wrestler in the grappling to compensate for that. Stipe is high enough level in all facets and streets ahead of anyone he beat and a stylistic nightmare. Cormiersaurus Rex would be swinging at air and trying to close the distance in vain all night then get his head split open.
 
DC didnt fight elite competition at HW. And today he is even older. Stipe, Cain, Werdum, Ngannou, Maybe Reem and JDS would beat him.
